We have taken our dog to this vet for several years, and office visits and vaccinations have generally gone smoothly. However, we have had multiple instances where our dog needed a prescription and we have asked to have it sent to a pharmacy more convenient for us, and they drop the ball on calling it in. Each time, the prescription was not called in even though they assured us each time that it will happen "immediately" and "will be filled the same day". We have had to call back for multiple DAYS to even WEEKS to get a prescription even sent to the pharmacy. Every time, we are told that we will get a call back when the prescription is called in and we never get a follow-up call. Every single time we have needed a prescription for our dog, this happens. But when we speak with them on the phone, they seem very nice and understand what we are asking, and they assure us that calling in a prescription to our preferred pharmacy is totally routine and doable. It is unclear why they cannot follow through. We have never been able to get a prescription called in without multiple follow up calls from us. This is extremely unprofessional and very frustrating and time-consuming for us. This makes them look extremely incompetent and makes us feel that they in fact do not care about the well-being of our dog since they know our dog needs these medications.
The Animal Hospital of Palo Alto is the best pet care facility on the Peninsula. I have now been to several between San Mateo and Palo Alto, and none of the others show the empathy and professionalism displayed by Dr. Linda Lawrence. She gets to know the animals and the parents, has a holistic view of the situation, and really spends time explaining the situation. I didn't feel rushed at all, the way I have in many of the other vets I have been to with my cat. I have a sensitive cat, and Dr Lawrence took the time to "win" over my cat before the check up. Our cat took to her immediately. She gave us great suggestions regarding his diet and physical shape. The staff was also very welcoming, kind and efficient. I have complete trust in this hospital and look forward to any interaction I will have with them moving ahead.
Much appreciation to Linda Lawrence, DVM, of Animal Hospital of Palo Alto for excellent care of our beloved Yorkie H, 7 years old! This was his 3rd dental cleaning and he still has nearly all his teeth thanks to Dr. Lawrence who did major work 2 years ago when his teeth (unknown to us) were in a state of decline, as it is with Yorkshire Terriors. But Dr. Lawrence removed all tartar even well below his gumline and has continued to improve his teeth during his last 2 cleanings. We love seeing his sparkling white teeth, and just know he enjoys eating his food with strong teeth! In the past Dr. Lawrence also handled skin irritations, an ear allergy issue, trimmed his nails, glands expression and more. H is only 5 lbs and more sensitive than bigger dogs, but bounces back quickly after his visits and we credit the gentle and loving, but effective care he receives at Animal Hospital of Palo Alto! This morning I received a call from Dr. Lawrence to check up on how H was doing and I was so happy to reply he was doing well. Thank you Dr. Lawrence and all the staff at Animal Hospital of Palo Alto for your loving and excellent care of our beloved Yorkie H!
We’ve been utilizing AHoPA for all of our Cosmo’s needs (veterinary care and doggy daycare) for over 7 years. The AHOPA front office and care staff is warm,, caring, and professional. Dr. Moding, Dr. Lawrence, and the vet technicians provide Cosmo with excellent veterinary care, while providing us with knowledgeable, practical advice for Cosmo’s care at home. Cosmo is always treated like prince when he struts through the front door with his tail wagging, so he apparently agrees with this assessment. The care Cosmo receives from AHoPA is top notch, and we have absolute confidence in them. AHOPA is the only veterinary clinic for Cosmo. Thank you!
I had to put my beloved kitty of 18 years to sleep after the emotional devastation of watching him waist away. This was very difficult. He was my companion, loved so very much by the entire family. The Animal hospital of Palo Alto, their caring staff and the wonderful vet were a Godsend. The were empathetic and caring in a very emotional time. They explained what was going to happen, and made Mr. T comfortable, sedating him to ease his pain before this difficult procedure. They gave us time with him, allowed us to say goodbye, and were so gentle with our baby and with us. I can not stress enough how thankful we are that this was where we chose. Thank you for the respectful, caring and beautiful treatment you gave to our very loved family member. I can say the level of care we received here is unmatched with any other vet we have ever had.
The worse hospital ever. Dr Lawrence and RAikhan lead tech are horrible.Dr Lawrence and RAikhan over charges, she hits dogs when they don’t stay still. On top of all that she over doses pets because she is scared of big dogs. So she rather over dose them to perform a test. For example she gave a dog meds that unfortunately killed the dog.She says she wishes she can slap clients and calls them all types of names! She is a dirty Dr who has board complains because she dose not practice proper. Everything she dose is illegal has a tech who she calls a Dr witch this tech is not a licensed Dr and Dr Lawrence lets her perform A Dr duty’s. Dr Lawrence just sits as the tech dose her job as a Dr. if you love your pets do not take them to this hospital. They even give wrong vaccines and don’t tell clients because she is so scared of the board.
