We only looked at one room of cats, but they were healthy and well-adjusted, eager for love and attention, and just delightful. Cindy admits to being crazy about cats, and she is crazy in all the right ways to be a cat herder. We pick up our new fur baby on Friday.

I came to look at adopting out a cat. I ended up falling in love with a kitten and was able to take the girl home. The staff are very experienced and care for the animals so much. They definitely can always use more help and more volunteers to help with needs rather than just walks. They did have a long process for adopting but animals at the LEAST live up to ten years. If you had to wait for two weeks to get an animal and can not even wait then you do not need to have an animal that will be over ten years of care. Many of the animals like any shelter Have a history. No one knows their history better then the workers and they place based off the animals need. Not the humans want. I love that and the staff. My kitten had settled well and is healthy, happy, and growing.

I do volunteer work here, & I love it! This is the only true no-kill animal shelter in the state. There are around 40 to 50 beautiful cats that are up for adoption. They live in 3 different rooms & are well taken care of. There are also around 10 different dogs & 4 beautiful horses. Owensboro Humane Society offers a low-cost spay & neuter clinic, nail clinic, and is ran on donations only, so whether it's money, food, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, or blankets, all donations are greatly appreciated!πŸ•πŸˆπŸΎπŸŽπŸŽ

My daughter filled out the application online, was approved and they told her she could come see the dogs so she called them to make sure and they told her that she had to bring her dog from home to have a meet and greet. And she said I have a very large chocolate lab. Super friendly. But he has car anxiety. The lady questioned her about taking it to the vet. She said of course I take it to the vet and the lady replied with. Well how do you get it in the vehicle? She said my fiance helps put it in the vehicle but he is at work and you all close before he gets off work. She was very rude. They need to find someone that has human relation/resource skills. Ridiculous!!!

I would've given 0 * of it was optional.I called two different times trying to find out when the next spay neuter is the first lady didn't know anything and wouldn't ask the other person there, second call another lady answered didn't want to listen to anything and was very rude!!!!This establishment is very ridiculous pretty sad to be rude and hateful for no reason.

Wouldn't give us the time of day because we planned on having the 160lb Anatolian as an outside dog with a purpose. I guess a cage in a steel building is better for him. Hopefully he finds a good home.
