Description SparKy is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue. We strongly believe in saving lives. No-kill rescues ONLY euthanize an animal if recommended by a veterinarian due to illness beyond providing the animal good quality of life, or due to severe behavioral issues, such as extreme aggressiveness, placing humans & other animals at risk. We will do everything in our power to save the life of an animal! Members of SparKy have made it mission to join with other rescue groups & shelters to reduce the number of animals killed each year. Our goals are educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering, educate the public about responsible pet ownership, and to rescue and re-home homeless adoptable pets.

Mr. Austin and his staff were great. We drove from Illinois to Kentucky to adopt out new puppy. He explained everything that our new fur baby had done as far as shots and being neutered. They are a no kill shelter who find new homes for cats and dogs, young or old. Thank you for the great work you and your staff are doing to save these animals.

Staff made us comfortable during a difficult time. Explained how things would go and showed compassion during the loss.

Sent an email to inquire about a pet. Took a while to receive a response. Responded with questions and instead of doing the logical thing and giving a complete explanation, they responded with one word. Found their website and application myself from a Google search, because instead of including it in an email, or telling me where to get the application, I had to figure it out. After applying, there was ZERO communication from them until I waited 4 days to get an update. They had a question, I responded immediately. It's been 6 days since responding and still nothing from them. I have rescued animals before and have gone through the process multiple times. Their process is so poor and I can see why animals don't get adopted in a timely manner.
