I really like the simplified and high level synthesis of examinations and treatment options they offer. Dr. Press exemplifies this behavior for me and my pup. No pressure, just focus on what’s important, along with making themselves available when really needed.
I just took my dog here for TPLO surgery and I was really scared! I wanted everything to go well since my dog is approaching 9 y.o. Dr. Press made this experience so seamless, Winston was eating and drinking the moment we got home. No hiccups. Super clean incision. Scheduled follow ups included in the price. They dealt directly with my pet insurance, too. Thank you a million times Dr. Press and staff! One week out from surgery and he's already feeling like himself again. The surgery, blood work etc was pricey but you get what you pay for. They kept him overnight to observe him and gave me updates. if you've been looking for a sign to get pet insurance, this is it.
Terrific vet clinic. There are many different vets and all of the ones I've spoken with have been knowledgeable and great. They made me feel like my cats are in good hands. They respond very quickly to questions by phone or email. They have convenient hours, with later appointments on weekdays and are also open Saturdays.
My dog and, therefore, I had really negative experiences here. My dog is extremely afraid of the vet and I felt this vet was more afraid of her which made her nervous. The vet also tried to convince me that my dog was younger than I knew she was because her teeth weren’t fully developed, but it’s characteristic of her breed (xoloitzcuintles). I should have known from the first vet visit that it wasn’t a good fit, but because of the positive reviews I decided to have my dog fixed here. They keep the animals overnight, so it’s impossible for me to know how she was treated, but my 9 month old dog ran out of the vet out of fear following her procedure when she was still medicated and wearing a cone. She was so frightful following the experience. For $800, I expected a more quality surgical experience. Now that I’ve taken her to other clinics in the Bay and in Denver, I see that this vet was just not good or kind. Additionally, I had a negative experience with filling prescriptions here.
Money money money! That's all Press wants from you. He doesn't care about the pets. Just will try everything to get as much as he can from you. I've spent more than 3k here and seem to need more and more exams. In less than a year, I had my dog do x rays + ultrasound and blood work twice, and Press wanted me to do it a third time not even a month after the last one because my dog did not get better with the medication he gave her. Not to mention that the medicine they put her on lead to more health issues later, so now I need to get her even more medicine (that's not working) which makes me believe he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
I tried to make an appointment for a dog I am fostering through the PAWS program for their client. The woman I spoke to could not understand that the client couldn't call them because he had a stroke. She made an appointment, then told me she had to cancel it and speak to the client to make a chart. How much time would it take for her to understand that a person who lost speech due to a stroke can't call her? Twenty minutes wasn't enough, apparently, so I called SPCA and had an appointment in 3 minutes. SPCA knew who I was by the phone I was calling from since PAWS put the info in their system. I can't rate the service because they can't figure out how to book an appointment. Sad. Bad for business.
