I’ve been going to SAGE oncology for the last year with my dog and they really have treated us like family. He had his leg amputated with surgery downstairs, which was also a really good experience. Overall, I’m really glad we came to SAGE for his treatment. As far as cost, it is expensive, however you’re getting specialty care so it’s expected. It’s not more expensive than any other specialty vet I’ve found. They have in-house lab services, so that helps keep some costs down and expedited things. If you have insurance, then a lot of it’s covered, but unfortunately we did not so I’ve had to pay for everything out of pocket. It’s the only place where you can buy time. Totally worth it. I also work everyday and the oncology clinic was really flexible and let me drop my dog off for his chemo appointments and any re-checks he needed. Super helpful and friendly staff!
When we needed an emergency checkup after finding this poor little infant kitten at 5am being bullied by siblings from an older litter by the same feral parents, the people at Sage immediately took him as soon as we rushed in. He had been tossed around quite roughly so I was very worried about internal injuries/fractures, but thankfully he was quickly given the all clear beyond some superficial cuts and scrapes. While I personally have about 25 years of cat care experience for all ages, this little one was definitely the youngest I'd ever suddenly found myself in charge of and the dr made sure to print out all the relevant information I'd need to have with me on hand. There was a lot of worry he might be susceptible to FKS because of the unusualness of the mother bringing him to our yard so young and the older siblings attacking him, but I'm happy to say that three weeks on from that early morning he's still doing well and growing strong! He's turning out to be quite a rascally mama's boy, and has recently been bonding more with one of the older siblings I had captured a mere two days before finding him. I'm much more confident that he was simply a runt the mama kitty was having trouble with (he is a little behind where he should be at his age) and the other kittens going after him was simply just them being that rowdy age where anything and everything that moves is a "toy". A huge thank you to the team at Sage for being there for us at such a distressing moment! Very caring and considerate people who really made sure we were looked after.
UPDATE WITH PHOTOS! Ronald Dregan is officially off her meds and is free to be a kitten again! Thanks to everyone at Sage for working with us so diligently to get Ronnie back to herself! Even when I called them today to ask if I should bring the nebulizer back, the receptionist, Abbey, was so kind and thoughtful on the phone. Y'all really know what you're doing and I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am for your dedication. They deserve a 10/5 and if I could rate that high I would! Thank you! Everyone who has worked so diligently to help out Ronald Dregan has been so amazing. I simply cannot thank you all enough for all that you've done. Little Ronnie is still there and we aren't really sure what her outcome will be, but know we are forever grateful for your hard work. From the ER staff when I brought her in, to Dr. Beehler and her team, to the the ER staff taking care of her overnight, to the reception whenever I come in. I simply cannot thank you enough. 💜
My dog recently got into a deadly amount of chocolate and SAGE took such amazing care of her. I truly believe their thorough care of her is the reason she is doing well today. Not only were they great with her, they were also very accommodating to me, allowing me to visit and even walk her several times while she was admitted. It truly meant a lot to me and I really appreciate everyone there. I had only point of frustration, which was check in. When I arrived, there was no one else in the clinic lobby and the person at the front desk was on the phone. Their conversation did not sound like an emergency (was light hearted, just answering questions) and instead of putting the person on hold to see what I was there for, he stayed on the phone for several minutes to complete the conversation. In such a critical situation for my dog, I would have appreciated a better triage.
I went to this center when my cat had an obstructed bladder and I went here again when I was seeing him going to the litter box 25 times during the day. Thankfully he didn’t have an obstructed bladder this time, but I’m happy this facility is open 24/7 and allows walk-in for such emergency that may arise.
My dog and I had an incredible experience at Sage. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment with a cardiologist. They were extremely attentive and friendly. My dog had all exams necessary completed the same day. Unfortunately, my dog had a halter monitor placed. Yet, they made the experience very easy for us both. I should be getting results this week. Hoping everything comes out negative! The only downside of all of this was the cost. They are on the pricy side. Yet, they are the only cardiologists in the city!
