Absolutely terrible experience at Heartland Veterinary Clinic. We aren't from the area and went to the wrong location. We were exactly twelve minutes late to our appointment with our very sick dog, and Dr. Arneson outright refused to see us. I called and spoke to the receptionist who told me it wouldn’t be a problem. However, on the way, she called back and said Dr. Arneson is now refusing to see us. I explained that we were already there, but she said it didn’t matter because we were already 20 minutes late, which was completely wrong. We were exactly twelve minutes late, but she told me his policy is ten minutes and suggested trying to reschedule. After reading a few horrible reviews on other pages about Dr. Arneson and this location, I completely understand now, but we were from out of town and desperate for a vet close to us. This heartless behavior is completely unacceptable when dealing with sick and vulnerable pets. Our dog needed urgent care, and instead, we were met with indifference and a complete lack of compassion. We will never return to this clinic and urge others to find a veterinarian who actually cares about their patients. Avoid this place at all costs!

I love Dr. Arneson! He's a straight shooter with me! He always tells me what I'm looking at and so fourth! If you ever need a second opinion, or just a awesome vet clinic, please call them! Can't say enough good things about them!!

They take care of rabbits here! And they don't cost an arm and a leg for rabbit services here. It's still expensive but much less than anywhere else. Plus, the staff here is super friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend Heartland over any other vet in Harrisonburg.

We are from Philadelphia and my dog’s stomach was very sick and he was in a lot of pain. We went to the wrong clinic since we were not from the area and didn’t know where we were going. We were exactly 12 minutes late for our appointment and the doctor couldn’t possibly squeeze us in at all and could not treat my sick dog. Terrible service by the front desk and they hung up on us when we were in the parking lot telling them we were there. Please don’t go here.
