Just such a kind and caring staff.. my pleasure to have met them .. ty so much ..Burlington.. loves you !
One star earned for having an organized website with dog photos and profiles easily navigable and a simple online application. Second star earned for reaching out within a reasonable timeframe to discuss said application and the fit of available dogs. After that is when the experience turns downward for me. I am in the process of starting a family and wanted a dog for my future children to grow up with. I applied for dogs online that I was told were family friendly and was encouraged to set up a time to meet them in real life, so I did. I was ready to move forward immediately but wasn’t contacting until days after my meeting, via an email that said the dog (who again I was told was family friendly) would be staying where she was. When I inquired about adopting a different dog, I was ignored. It would seem that this discrimination was happening on the basis of my growing family, based on the wording of the email I received. I ended up going to the animal shelter and bringing home a 4.5 month old puppy instead. I’ve had him 15 days now and am in the thick of potty training and looking forward to him growing up with my baby when they arrive in 2024. The bright side is this pup is a good fit, even though I got him elsewhere.
What a concern group of workers. Very helpful. I hope more people donate to help out.
This is not a shelter, but they do work closely with shelters and fosters to find places for wayward animals of all sorts. The work they do here is often thankless but necessary and they handle it well. If you need help or guidance with your animals or one you've found, these are the folks to contact.
The people at HSAC do an amazing job supporting animals and fosters. We have fostered multiple times, and it's always been rewarding. We also have several animals from HSAC that we absolutely adore.
The Alamance County Humane Society is a wonderful group to work with. "Mrs.Pam" goes above and beyond with taking the steps to help place animals in forever homes. The Human Society is the best group I've ever dealt with. Yes they have a small fee ( not sure but I think it's around 150.00 for Dogs/Puppies and less for Cats/Kittens) but this fee just repays for health checks to insure the animal is healthy or if it may need special Medical care,(which they are totally up front with) shots heartworm/flea prevention and Spay/Neutering and Micochiped, so they can help with the next animal that needs rescued. They don't just send these animals to just any FOREVER home either like a Animal Adoption Center/Shelter will do (which also has a fee for adoptions). They make sure that whom ever adopts their rescue animals are able to give the LOVE and CARE the animal needs before they'll approve an adoption, so that animal will never have to re-live the conditions they were rescued from. If you are looking for an Animal Rescue group to Adopt a rescue pet or give support with donations or maybe even interested in becoming a foster like me then I totally recommend that you support your local Humane Society."Together We Can Save Them All"
