They’re completely USELESS. Had a neighbors dogs killing chickens and kittens out here and the lady that answered, then said, “okay” in an annoyed tone after having a bit of a connection issue and then hung up on me and wont answer any of our calls anymore. tried calling on multiple phones from different family members and also emailing. 2 of those dogs ended up getting hit on the road a couple hours later, sad situation all around for everyone. reading other reviews and they’re having issues with a woman that works there, not surprised if it’s the same one, they’d take a step in the right direction by getting rid of her.

Dean and his assistant today were very knowldgeable and helpful in scaring a fox out of my barn today . Thank you again for the promptness and professionalism in handling this situation !!

What is going on?!!! I’ve called 10 times to get dogs removed roaming around by a school. There are multiple pit bulls and everything and they are always outside free of leash and owners. Every time I call they sound like a kid lying to their parents that they will wake up. Horrible!! Huge liability and the loose dogs are just getting worse and worse

We went puppy shopping and the first stop was the Humane Society what the experience was not great. We talked to the lady up front and she said "the dogs are that way, go have a look". Did not try to listen to what we were looking for, nor was she motivated to remove her butt from her chair. The place smelled horrible and more than half the runs had feces and pee in them. I guess they were too lazy to actually clean them. There was nothing there we wanted, though they had come cute puppies, but I am afraid they would be sick from their environment. While we were there someone brought a puppy back because he was sick and he just adopted him that morning. So if you feel lucky I wish you luck. I would rather adopt elsewhere, much less hassle, better environment, and healthy dogs. I am no vet but most of the dogs looked fairly thin. Overall, not the best experience from a organization wanting me to adopt an animal, there needs to be huge improvements made across the board.

The Victoria Animal Shelter personnel are awesome! The facility is alway very clean. They're kind and they love, love animals. People need to educate themselves about what it takes to take care of an animal. If people would just get their cat or dog spayed or neutered the community wouldn't have an over population of cats, kitten, dogs or puppies. Bottom line, if you get a pet be responsible educate yourself.

If I could I would put no stars. I had the worst experience ever here. I went to adopt a dog Monday 7/18. I saw the cutest little puppy. I wanted her right away and felt a connection with her. I was told she was a shepherd mix and 4 months old. I went home and showed my daughter a picture of the puppy and promised to get her. We went the next day and my daughter saw the puppy and we were told she needed to be spayed, microchiped, and get a rabies shot. She would be available for adoption Thursday and we can pay then. We told them we would be back Friday instead because we were going out of town. I asked if the puppy would be ready Friday. They said yes. I was excited and waited until Friday but when we went they had just closed so I waited until Monday. That's 5 business days. We went to go pick her up and were very disappointed. They made a last minute phone call to the Vet and said we would have to wait the next day because she had to be spayed with their Vet. I saw the paper over the counter and noticed the puppy was a Rottweiler mix and was 6 wks. I had no idea and was confused about the misleading information. I got very upset because I really wanted her that day and they wouldn't release her. A lady came out and said I spoke to you and told you she wouldn't be available for adoption until Friday. I said right and I expected to take her home. I walked out because I was fed up, then my roommate tried to see if we could somehow take her home today. I went back inside and asked if we could sign a 30 day sterilization agreement. They said they don't do that. The lady started to raise her voice at me and I said I'm not going to argue with you. She said I'm not going to argue with you in a loud voice. I stood there upset and she ignored me and asked if my roommate needed anything to let her know. We left and I didn't feel comfortable going back there. I felt sad for the puppy, and sad for disappointing my daughter. I'm pretty sure the puppy will get euthanized due to this. The puppy is too young to get spayed. The service is bad, place smells and it's not clean. They all look unhappy to work there. They are very inconsistent and don't explain the process of adoption at all. There was no paperwork besides getting my name off my ID to say I was interested in her. They said she was available but meant to start the spay, microchip process. They definitely should of explained that when I told them I wanted her. I will never go back there and I hope nobody does. They have no compassion for animals. If they did they would be more than happy to provide good homes for those precious dogs. I did wind up going to Adopt a Pet and adopting a terrier mix.
