I'm so grateful for the Veterinarians and Staff at Coastal Animal Referral Emergency Care. My furbaby, Mr. Timber Bear Sparks, experienced an emergency and we couldn't find any place in VA Beach that could take him. My husband and I we're referred to Coastal, and God Bless them, they saw Mr. T.B. Sparks and diagnosed his issue. They treated his pain and made sure he was comfy, and they were so great about explaining everything going on. I was a crying mess because he had to be admitted, but I knew he was with people who would love, comfort, and care for him as if he was their own. My doggo is my whole world, and words cannot express how grateful I am. I wish there was a way I could repay them for their kindness because a simple "Thank You" doesn't even touch on the appreciation I have for them.
Last night was the first time I have ever had to take any of my cats to the vet let alone the ER vet. My sweet baby Moon started becoming sluggish and didn’t eat which quickly turned into severe lethargy. The only place I could find that was open was Costal Animal Care, they were pretty much at patient capacity, however after hearing the severity of my cat’s symptoms, they made it possible for him to be seen. Thankfully the diagnosis he received is nothing too bad and I’m home with him today, he’s doing much better and actually walking and meowing again 🥹❤️ he’s finally keeping down food and drinking water. He left the clinic last night feeling so much better and responsive. The staff were so kind and willing to help any way they could. They answered all my questions and were patient with me as I asked quite a few lol… I definitely recommend this clinic for animal emergencies! Thank you to all the staff for all the work you do, it’s greatly appreciated 🫶
My 15 year old cat had early stages of kidney failure in January. I figured new diet/medicine may help him but he was nearing his end. One minute he was fine, later that weekend (4/27) he was skin and bones, delirious, suddenly not voiding, etc. My vet was closed so I went here. An amazing, comforting place. Complimentary coffee/snacks, they were understanding of my son being there (who I’m potty training, so that was interesting on top of everything else) and so sweet. They took a look and told me he was near the end, which I had a feeling. Dr. Abernathy and Dr. Kraus were amazing and gentle when explaining everything and the put down process. We were placed in a nice private room, and got to say our goodbyes in the comfort of privacy versus in a hospital like room. They had a side door you could exit out of versus everyone seeing our crying faces in the lobby, which I thought was very smart. When I first saw the place I figured my wallet would cry. Everything was paid for by them and I was shocked. Thank you all for making the process easy and stress free. Another thank you to Agape Pet Services for the beautiful cremation and paw print of my cat.
Unfortunately, late Sunday night my partner and I had to bring our cat in after he ate netting and began throwing up blood. We were there until 1:30 in the morning and I spent almost the entire time crying. The staff was so polite (even when discussing billing) and kept us informed. We ended up having to leave our baby there overnight, but they called early the next morning with updates. After receiving an endoscopy, we were able to pick him up Monday evening and bring him home. The doctor explained the medication he needed very throughly. They accept care credit, so don’t let a lack of funds stop you from helping your fur baby.
This place SAVED my cat! Over the weekend my cats bladder almost ruptured. He’s only 2!! Without hesitation they took him in. They were respectful of my budget always asking first. It was expensive but it’s an emergency service so you can expect that. They really helped assure me that he was as comfortable as possible and when he came back he seemed so happy and much more comfortable. I am so thankful for the team here.
The doctors and staff at Coastal Animal Referral Emergency are amazing to work with. My dog, Beau, swallowed 3 toys and needed to have them removed from his stomach. The doctors and team were able to remove these objects with a scope and Beau was feeling better within hours. We are so thankful for the welcoming environment and care we received.
