Very kind helpful and thorough. I love my little rescue dog 😇 He is precious and they were kind enough to care and rescue him off the streets he was so tiny and hungry. Now we love him and he has a great home.
On 04/16 it’ll be a year since we adopted Zeus from the shelter. I’m so glad we found him. He goes everywhere with us and we bonded really fast. He’s one of the best dogs I’ve ever had and really is my best friend!
My overall experience was good one, been going through a tough time in my life and really needed a loyal companion and I chose a dog that I named Shiloh (God's Gift) the bonding was instant, she has helped me so much emotionally. She's extremely smart and our adjustment period from shelter to home was effortless, house trained in less than a week, and stays right by my side constantly, responds to her new name like it was her name from the beginning
This establishment is a far cry from what a shelter should be. Just two nights ago, a friendly pit bull was roaming the Railyard Bike Park, causing distress among parents and children. A group of us managed to guide the pup into the dog park enclosure and promptly contacted a shelter to inform them of the situation. Unfortunately, the pup managed to escape and continued to wander the bike park. In an attempt to do the right thing by the dog, my roommate and I, both already living with a dog each in our small apartment, decided to take the pup home for the night with the intention of taking him to a shelter in the morning. We initially attempted to bring the pup to the Bentonville shelter, "Best Friends Pet Resources Center," but they advised us to return to Rogers, where the dog was found. Regrettably, the Rogers shelter was closed at the time, forcing us to keep the pup for another uncomfortable night for our own dogs. Today, I made my way to the Rogers Animal Shelter with the pup, and I was met with utter disbelief. I was treated as though I were the dog's owner attempting to abandon him. They refused to listen to reason or consider the evidence I had proving that I found the dog. Their response was that I had to take the pup back home until they had available space, which could take several weeks – an impossible situation given our living arrangements. When I asked if I should return the dog to the Railyard Bike Park where I initially found him, their response was simply, "If that's your choice." What kind of animal shelter operates in this manner? I've assisted dogs in various places I've lived and have never encountered such mistreatment or witnessed such a lack of care. This operation either requires increased funding or should be restructured to allow a more competent organization to step in and rectify these glaring issues. Zero Stars is not an option.
I went there to adopt "Rambo" and I ended up with tue perfect dog. He goes everywhere with me. I'm so glad I picked a shelter dog because he's so grateful to have a home and warm bed.
Visited with family to see about adopting a dog and the staff were very friendly. Didn't get to see the inside of the facility to see how the animals were treated, but most of the dogs seemed happy.
