Dr. Nurre literally saved my dog's life - not your run of the mill vet clinic. I brought my dog on what could have been his last days with fluid around the heart. The care of the staff and their efforts saved my dog. Very professional and attentive staff, and they took great care of my dog.

This place is amazing. My dog got a foxtail up his nose on a Sunday night so we had to take him in on emergency. The staff were all very kind and patient with me. My dog has a genetic issue that makes certain sedatives dangerous and the vet was careful to double check any medications used and make sure he was sedated safely for his procedure. He left the clinic happy as ever because the staff gave him lots of love. I would absolutely bring him back here anytime and would highly recommend them for any emergencies you may have. Thank you to everyone working last night that helped my dog Jax. 💕

We had an excellent experience with Dr. Lee. Her attentive listening, thorough explanations, and responsiveness to all our inquiries made us feel truly cared for. The treatment and recovery process for our eight-year-old dog went smoothly, and we're thrilled with the results. Dr. Lee's evident passion for animal dentistry shines through in her meticulous care and gentle approach with our furry friend. Without hesitation, we highly recommend her for any dental concerns in animals. Furthermore, the clinic staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience.

Went there for heart failure and they did take him in right away. After he was evaluated and they were figuring out what was wrong, they had me in a room to tell me what was going on. They needed me to sign off on the cost, but had to put the pricing together. There were only 2 other animals in the waiting room at the time. I was kept in the room for 30 minutes without coming back, so i went to Roccos and ordered pizza and it took them 45 minuntes to put the pricing together. A little long if you ask me. They did provide medication that has helped in made my dog better. I then was to come back a week and half later for a checkup. At the checkup I was waiting for over 30 minutes. While I was waiting, 4 other animals came in and were seen before me. I asked why hasn't my dog been seen for his appointment. They said i had to wait still. As I was waiting, more dogs were coming and staying in the waiting room. My dogs heart was poinding through his chest - mind you he was there for congestive heart failure and had collapsed 3 times prior due to excitement. I got up told them i was leaving and to please call me to reschedule. They never called. I called back to try and reschedule and see what to do about his medication. They basically said screw you we can't tell you anything and we are not seeing animals for follow ups and to call my normal vet. I was flabbergasted. Horrible customer service and expectations. Totally disappointed in the lack or professionalism and customer service.

My 3yr old mixed pup went to the ER as she was vomiting several times within a few hour time span. I took her in on a Wednesday night and Dr. Jackie Russell was on call. She treated us with kindness, compassion and care. The same could be said about everyone else we interacted with. We were very worried and they all helped us feel at ease. They really seemed to care a lot about my baby's well being. They evaluated her quickly and thankfully it wasn't too busy that we were seen fairly quickly. They even followed up with us after the fact. Something we truly appreciated. Overall a great experience. I do want to note that this was our second ER visit with them (another time about a year ago) and they had her record on file and knew all about her which helped with this diagnosis. I definitely recommend it if you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position to utilize an ER Veterinary office.

A few weeks back, my dog, Bobbi, who's almost 2, took a sudden turn for the worse. After a visit to our regular vet, it became clear she needed more care, and that's when we found ourselves at VCA Encina Emergency Veterinary Hospital. From the moment I walked in, we felt we were in good hands, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The entire office staff was efficient and kind, and they quickly admitted Bobbi for the care she needed. It was a relief knowing she was being taken care of so well. Let me share my experience with Dr. Russell. When we met in person a couple of days later, it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Dr. Russell not only radiates warmth but also impressed me with her extensive knowledge. I trust her completely when it comes to Bobbi's well-being. In the midst of a worrying situation, Dr. Russell and the team at Encina Emergency Veterinary Hospital were a ray of hope. If you ever find yourself needing emergency care for your fur baby, know that your pet is in the best of hands at VCA Encina.
