Being pretty new to fish keeping, I visited Sierra several times over the past month with nothing but questions about tank cycling, fish compatibility, substrate, water chemistry…you name it. I found the staff incredibly helpful and patient in answering all of my questions. Everyone I spoke with was great but Alyssa was especially knowledgeable in helping me choose the right fish for my tank setup. No, you won’t find perfectly stocked and squared-off products on the shelves or polished floors. But it’s the slightly disorderly charm of the store that makes this place great. This is the sort of ma and pa shop full of experts and animal lovers that you are glad exists so you aren’t forced to shop solely at the Petcos of the world. Their selection of fish, plants, decorations and equipment FAR outweighs the box stores anyway. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

sunday may 26th 2024 arround noon young guy was on counter ive asked price for fish tank stand he said VERRY EXPENSIVE ....... i paid 1k for rimless tank also 600$ kessil ..... spending 500$ for stand is fine i was about to purchase the but the guy look at me and said very expensive by the way that stand was very very nice one its solid

I have been shopping at Sierra Fish & Pets for at least ten years. I went there today to buy crickets around 3:30 pm, which I purchase there about once a week. There is normally a friendly young person to help me but today there was no one to be seen. The store owner ???refused to call someone to help me. Instead, he rudely told me that there was no one available to help me so I would just have to wait until he was available. He helped several other customers on both registers with large orders before he finally got to me. I had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes; I felt like he was intentionally making me wait just because I had asked him if there was someone else who could help me. I have NEVER been show so much disrespect. Hope that isn’t how he treats other regular customers!

This had been the best store for finding everything that I have been wanting to set up my tank. They also had a great selection for taking care of your birds and small mammals. One of the things that I appreciated the most about this store was that it was kept very clean and organized.

The staff was nice and helpful, great selection of fish, although the rabbit enclosure was filled w urine and feces and stunk BAD, we avoided that side of the store altogether because the reptiles were also very unkempt, meaning no fresh water it was slimy and green,very small dirty cages and reptiles seemed very agitated to say the least. The fish side was great though.
