My dog was miss treated, miss diagnosed and ended up with her tail amputated!! They do not care and charge so much! Me and my family used to take all of our pets here (over 5 of them) but our last visit terminated this relationship. Took our dog CJ last minute as an emergency because she had bad, deep cuts on her tail where you could almost see her bone. She is a Pitbull, and even though she is a very sweet girl we still muzzle her for other people to feel comfortable. When we arrived the technician was notably scared of her. They took her in for less than 5 minutes and told me that she was not letting them look at the cuts and dismissed me with some pills and wipes. I signed a consent prior to sedate her if necessary and they didn’t take the time to examine her correctly. I insisted that the tip of the tail had a bad cut and looked septic. They still dismissed me saying they will look at it further in the next visit a week from then. Paid $200 for nothing because they did not even wrapped it. Three days later the tip of her tail was literally hanging. It’s a Saturday and we go back but they were closed. So we go to another hospital where the people that work there actually CARED!! They ended up scheduling an emergency surgery to amputate her tail (surgery was $130 at Operation Spay Bay. They care and they are fair setting their prices). Monday I called to cancel the follow up appointment and after expressing to them my disappointment and what had happened the receptionist just said “okay have a nice day”. SO UNACCEPTABLE! Never again!
I've used Parkway Animal Hospital with all of my pets over the years and will continue to trust them with my pets/family members.. They are always so fast, thorough and informative with each of our visit..
I can understand when a dog has a cough and they do curbside. But to not allow owner to go in with the dog to see them check the dog out , I am a little iffy on that. Because taking a dog in for a 2 min check up is kinda sketchy. When if you took them in it takes about 5 to 10 min maybe for the doc to listen to you and then the check the dog.
Love this place. They're always nice and respectful and always caring. When it comes to my animals, they Are always very respectful and delightfull to me and caring. I would have a recommend taking your pets near great place.
Vets, vet techs, and office associates are all very courteous and kind. My dog needed a minor surgery and she was very calm around everyone at the office and calmly walked wherever they took her. She was never scared. Prices are average, appointments are pretty fast.
I just saw a post on Parkway’s Facebook page dated Jan 11 that they had a shot clinic on Jan 20. (No vet I’ve been to ever had a shot clinic). I made an appointment for an exam and rabies vaccine for two of my cats on Jan 15. My appointment was scheduled for Jan 22. That would have been REALLY smart to let me know that they had a shot clinic in just a few days, instead of letting me pay the exorbitant fee I paid. All that was done at my appointment was listening to my two cat's heart for $60 each, and an outrageous unheard of $45 fee for a rabies vaccine for EACH of my two cats. They very briefly looked at only one of my cat's teeth (I wanted BOTH cats looked at) because I requested it. The only reason I made the appointment was my concern for their teeth and wanting them cleaned. I have three other cats and one dog. I was planning to bring them in as well, but not after I saw that they had a shot clinic they didn’t tell me about in just days after I made my appointment. I should have been called and given an option to either keep my appointment or save about $140 and go to their shot clinic that was just two days before my scheduled appointment. They thought they were making money by not telling me about their shot clinic, instead they lost a customer with five cats and a dog and WAY more since I've been rescuing and re-homing cats for 10 years, all of which get seen by a vet before they're adopted. I know bloodwork and dental cleaning is a HUGE cost. They lost doing that on at least FIVE cats and a big dog. Greed should never play a role when it comes to a pet’s care. They lost BIG bucks by not thinking SMART.
