I have volunteered here since almost the beginning. I have adopted a horse and a cat. I currently volunteer in a different capacity. It is a wonderful facility and a huge undertaking. Reality is that if there were no irresponsible pet owners.....the need for rescues would be much smaller!

My wife called this location to find out if it was suitable for her dog. We have a newborn who happens to be allergic to animals and as much as it breaks her heart she wanted to find a good upstanding shelter that wouldn't abuse her childhood best friend. I'm not sure of the lady's name who answered the phone but not only was she extremely rude but she hung the phone up as well. Some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with the public and this woman shouldn't have a job interacting with anyone. Bad day or not, it's your job.

The woman running this rescue is a saint. She is doing it ALL essentially on her own. Rescuing 100s of animals a year and doing all of the physical and financial work. The majority of these terrible reviews are from people trying to unload their often neglected animals on her and it’s such a disservice to the work she is doing. We rescued our little Chorkie from her over a year ago and he is a constant companion to my husband and brings us so much joy. Amy made the process extremely easy for us, unlike so many rescues that hoard animals and make you jump through endless hoops. She is only trying to save animals. Period. I can’t say enough nice things about this rescue and they desperately need your adoptions & donations. If you are looking to open your home and heart to a rescue animal, give this place a chance. You won’t regret it.

Do not go here because they will spread lies about past owners. We planned on keeping our dog but could not afford her because I lost hours at my job and we thought it was nice of them to take our dog but they went behind our back and said we were breeders when we weren't. And said that we weren't taking care of her when we were. Just places down there didn't allow dogs so we had to give her up.
