My grandson and I had a wonderful experience. Lisa Jefferson was amazing! We love our Roxy so much. I like the fact that their staff are very picky in who they will allow to adopt one of their pets. They want to be sure that you are going to have the right home to be able to give the dog a safe and loving place to live and become a part of your family. I highly recommend the Colonial Capital Humane Society to adopt a new member into your family today!

The staff at this facility are excellent at what they do. They work hard to find good homes for all the homeless pets that come through there and deserve an award for it. They found a foster home for a stray puppy we found and were so responsive and nice! If you are in the market for a pet, this is definitely the place to go❤️

Great place to find your next pet. Make sure you complete a pet application first. Completing an application first is the best way to speed up your adoption process. Once the application is approved, your next step is to find your next pet.

All of the bad reviews you see appear to be about the part of the shelter that adopts out dogs. I cannot comment on this as I have only adopted cats from this establishment. The ladies who work with the cats and kittens are the sweetest and most helpful people I've met. They are knowledgeable of all cats at the shelter and genuinely want to match you to a fur baby. Especially Mary Jean and Lisa. I highly recommend this humane society for anybody who is looking to adopt a cat or kitten.

Kill free amazing shelter that provides care and training while trying to find homes for dogs and cats. Highly recommend and support them. We have received 2 dogs from them and both were as described. They worked with us through the process (once approved) and made the adoption easy after listening to our needs and pairing us with our pets. Caring dedicated staff. Highly recommend.
