John the vet tech gets 10 stars. We put our dog down a week ago today. John was so compassionate and kind. The man deserves way more than he is being paid. Due to not having a container large enough for my Newfoundland, Robinson had to hold my dog from last Wednesday to this past Monday. In an effort to ease my pain, I stopped by the People’s Street location around 12:40pm and paid our Newfie’s euthanasia bill as we were not presented one when we departed the office previously. The bill was apx. $161. We have nine animals and our bill last Dec. for all of them was $2300. We have been clients for almost thirteen years. Whether the visit was for one such as stated above or $200 for medication we ALWAYS paid our bill the same day in full. So, imagine my shock when we return to the office two hours later to pick up our Newfoundland and Janet comes down the sidewalk as we are loading our beloved baby and says something like, “I know you are in pain, but you need to pay the bill.” To which I responded, “Janet, I came by and paid you (yes, she took my payment) two hours ago”. She stated, “no you did not”. I replied, “yes I did and I have the receipt in my purse”. The real kicker was that she had brought out to our car the portable payment device for a credit card. Imagine the horror and anger in my mind as I am absorbing all of this when loading my precious most perfect dog ever born and my “child” all while barely being able to communicate as I am literally hauling my baby to the pet cemetery at Washington County Memory Gardens (btw—Angelee Murray w this company is beyond awesome). James Robinson would be so disappointed in what his work of a lifetime of love for animals and his customers has evolved into. Needless to say, we are looking for a new vet for our remaining eight animals. Dr. Rachel Fogg is amazing and we love her, but this is too much of a tragedy, unprofessional, lack of compassion and caring we have ever experienced to ever return.
I took my dog for a really minor issue on a Sunday due to our vet being closed and they treated us great. I was nervous about taking her for such a minor issue but the vet and staff were so patient. Very reasonably priced as well. Would definitely return in the future if the need arises!
I somewhat unexpectedly had to put our cat Timber down today. We saw Dr. Khan, and she was honest, respectful, professional and compassionate. So were the other staff (thank you, Mandy), and I'm so thankful. Fly high, Timby.
I’m usually not the one to write reviews but these people saved me babies life and I couldn't be more thankful for them. I took him in cause he wasn’t eating (I had him at another vet the night before and they told me he was just nauseous) first thing the doctor did was tested him for parvo and parasites and he came back positive for parvo. When I told them I wanted to have him hospitalized it was no time they came in and got him and got him hooked up to fluids and medicine.. I didn’t do well with him being there overnight the first night so I was freaking a little and reached out to the manager at the watauga location and she went above and beyond for me when she didn’t have to and I will forever be thankful for what she did for me. I thought he was gonna have to stay another night and I asked them if I could set a camera up in his room and they was even gonna let me put a camera in my babies room but thankfully I got to bring him home. I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. And I will forever be thankful for them.
If your fur baby needs emergency care on Sunday morning, don't get too excited about being there at 7am when they open, because the vet doesn't come in til 9am. It would be nice if they had the Dr. hours instead of the cleaning ladies oops receptionist on their website. I'll never return, look at the reviews and decide for yourself.
A animal hospital that tries to help: They have their hands tied with pricing as the vets and vet techs don’t control that, but they try their best to get you the lowest quote they can. They do have something called the PET ANGEL FUND that was meant to help people who couldn’t afford their vet bills; but told me no one donates to this program. 😞 Furthermore; my family and I have been bringing our pets here for many years. They are precise in their work, straight to the point, and professional. They only don’t get 5 stars because they don’t have an alternative program available other than care credit for payment options.
