Description **Office by Appt Only** Korean K9 Rescue is creating a better future for homeless and mistreated dogs with the help of kind, compassionate adopters! We are a non-profit, No-Kill 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in Queens, New York that saves dogs from the meat trade, puppy mills, and high-kill shelters in South Korea. Due to the stigma associated with mixed-breed dogs and those from dog meat farms, most dogs have a low chance of being adopted in South Korea and run the risk of being euthanized. We transport at-risk dogs to the New York City, where we place them in loving forever homes. Our current eligible locations for adoption include NYC, Long Island, NJ, CT, PA, Washington D.C., and Maryland.

I’ve fostered 3 dogs with KoreanK9 over the last few months and this is one of the best run rescues you can find. Everyone on their team truly does everything they can for their dogs, as well as their fosters and other volunteers. Each dog I’ve fostered has been so well behaved and truly a joy to watch grow into their new environment. It is clear their team in Korea does a lot to help the dogs start to adjust before they come to their new country. I highly recommend getting involved with the organization in any way you can - adopt, foster, volunteer!

With so many rescue orgs in NYC, it can be hard to find the best fit. As a volunteer, former foster parent, and recent adopter @ Korean K9 Rescue, I can say that the team is incredible, the process is very clear and hands-on, and I could not be happier with my experience and my rescue pup. They have extensive resources for prospective and new adopters including orientation, manuals, vet recommendations, trainers, etc. An important piece for me is KK9R's post-adoption check-in process and the wonderful community they have built for "alumni" adopters. Cannot recommend them enough!

I've been fostering with Korean K9 for over a year and I can't speak highly enough of the organization. The organizers are incredibly thorough and make themselves available around the clock and as a foster I've always felt supported and appreciated for the work that we do. The organization as a whole works very comprehensively. From the dogs being rescued from shelters, farms, and the streets of Korea they work incredibly hard to make sure that the dogs are trained in basic things like potty training and crate training prior to them coming to the United States and that makes fostering much much easier for obvious reasons. And they also make adopting an incredibly thorough process as well so I feel very confident that when one of my fosters get adopted they're going to go to a really good homes. I feel like Korean K9 has really implemented an exceptionally thorough process from when they're in Korea, during the fostering period, and even after adoption. During the fostering period, any time we have any health or behavior issues with the dogs, the organizers are incredibly responsive and give really good guidance on how to address behaviors. I can keep rambling but I really can't say enough good things about this organization and thank them for all the work they do.

Perfection in an organization! As an adopter, volunteer, and foster of KoreanK9, I am excited to share my glowing reviews of a five star rescue organization!! I have been volunteering with KoreanK9 Rescue since January of 2023. The volunteer experience is extremely rewarding, the team is absolutely amazing and super kind, and the other volunteers share a passion for saving these sweet dogs. I applied to foster with KoreanK9 Rescue and the process was super seamless, I started Fostering Thunder (Photos attached), and knew I had to adopt him! The organization was very supportive and walked me through everything, got on the phone with me whenever I had questions, and now that I have adopted Thunder I still chat with Gina and team weekly! I don't think you can find a better organization they are truly one of a kind! They saved my sweet Thunder and I am forever grateful, not to mention KoreanK9 Rescue is the best community. Thank you <3 !!!!!

There are truly not enough words in this world to describe how amazing Korean K9 Rescue is. Fostering: |After losing my beloved family dog prior to the pandemic I was unsure if I was ready for a new pup but tested the waters with KK9 Fostering and it was the BEST decision I could have ever made. They support you along the way in every single step and provide EVERYTHING. All you need to provide is your loving home, love to the new pups coming in, and drop them off at adoption events. I fostered two beautiful dogs Rose and Kami who just made me sooo happy. If I ever had questions they were always available to help out and I never felt alone. If you are considering fostering look no further and do not hesitate! Adopting: The most unexpected thing happened to me while dropping off my foster at an adoption event. I fell in love and met my new fur baby !! The adoption process again was so organized and they set me up for success with supplies and recommended trainer. You will get everything you need from medical records, learnings from previous fosters, and not to mention a community !! They will follow up with you and again you are never alone! You can always reach out to learn more or ask questions. Korean K-9 changed my life for the better and if you are ready for this to be you look no further!!

I have volunteered with KK9 for several months now and am incredibly impressed by the dedication and deliberation of their staff. They find the best possible homes for each of the dogs in their care and make sure that all of the adopters are equipped to deal with the types of dogs they are adopting. The dogs get premium care, with trainers, meals and supplements, and every penny goes back to helping these dogs find their new homes. This is the service I wish I had when adopting my own dog and I’m so happy to help an organization I know is doing right by the animals and people.
