10/10 recommend this place for emergency care. I have 4 dogs and unfortunately we have been here plenty of times. From super critical to urgent cases. Regardless my pet is always cared for The staff is really great at communicating about what’s going on with your pet. Recently, my pet had an overnight day due to an unknown cause. The doctors are really great about telling us what they believe is going on explaining why they wanted to keep them overnight and keeping us updated while he was there.. When we decided to take, we felt like it was no longer an emergency situation. Our pet was stable and we wanted to take him to monitor and follow up with our regular vet. And understanding where we were financially, and our thought process there was no pressure. There was no pressure to do anything we weren’t comfortable with. And I really appreciate that. I’m sure an emergency vet can be really stressful and these people don’t show it. They treat everyone with kindness that walk through their door. I absolutely love the fact that called my dog kiddo. Because I truly believe my dogs are my kids and I absolutely love that they cared for them as such! If you ever find yourself an emergency situation late at night don’t hesitate just go to this place. They offer different ways that you can pay.
This place is so amazing and helpful! They took care of both of my babies! I’m not sure exactly who helped us on Wednesday but it was Dr. Sloan and today it was Dr Carroll, Natalie checked us in at the front desk and Ursa was our vet tech! Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and willing to help! Thank you so much for helping my babies feel better!
DO NOT take your pet here. I came in because my dog had bleeding from the rectum (like a large scary amount) so I came in with a towel and super worried about him. The secretary was rude, not helpful, and did not care. I was eventually put into a waiting room for 3 hours without being helped. Which by the way, look and smell unsanitary. I got so tired of waiting, I called my vet at High Plains medical center and they scheduled me immediately even though they didn’t have spots open… they fit me in on top of other patients for a fee lesser than the amount this ER was going to charge. The ER office fee is $185 just to be seen. Save yourself the massive headache and go to high plains instead or find another animal hospital because these people do not care. When I got up and walked out, the secretary was surprised to see me… I think they forgot about me. Glad I brought my own towel for the blood.
Poor dog got attacked by another dog and this place wouldn’t see him or help him. Sat there from 5:30pm to 11pm and not a single doctor came in to help us with his pain or anything. A lady came in twice to tell us the doctor has critical condition patients. I get that but no one came in to that er scenes we were there. Supposedly they only had one vet. Horrible experience ever. The receptionist is rude. I don’t feel like they have the animals best interest at all. They went to school to help animals not let them hurt and gouge your wallet in the mean time. Our dog had blood in the eye….. not sure if anyone has had blood in the eye but that’s painful alone not to mention this eye was exposed and couldn’t blink. So on top of that his eye was drying out. Just sad that people say they go to school for reasons of helping but in reality it’s all about the money at the end of the day. I hope this staff feels ashamed of them selves for what they do to people and there pets!
Within 3 hours I lost my best friend today. My dog suddenly had stroke-like symptoms and I told my husband to rush him to the closest pet ER possible. I was not there whenever he arrived but he did say the receptionist was rude. They got us in the room pretty quick which was amazing ! I arrived shortly after him. A staff member walked in and took notes along with presenting us with the bill for tests which was understandable. As I was trying to decide whether or not to attempt to test my dog he stood up and said, in an almost agitated voice, that he will give us some time. As he stood up he pushed the rolling chair all the way toward me while walking out of the door. I don't know maybe it was an accident but at the same time I just could not believe that the awareness was non existent. The doctor walked in as we made the decision to put our dog down and was kind enough to talk to us and told us that we are making the right decision to put the dog to sleep. Little compassion and kindness truly can go far whenever approaching a person that is about to lose their best friend. I get it that staff deals with death on a daily basis but please know that each pet that is handed to you is considered to be somebody's child.
I really didn't appreciate the lack of compassion that I experienced. I would never have brought my dog to the emergency vet if it wasn't an emergency we walked in and he was literally bleeding all over the place there was blood everywhere, I took photos for my own records and they don't even do it justice. It took me two days to clean my car. Not only were we made to wait in the lobby for an insane amount of time but they didn't even so much as offer me paper towels as I filled out over 25 pages of intake forms, then we had to wait to get into a room for almost 30 min, when I asked how long it would take before we would be seen, the guy at the front desk seemed annoyed at the question. Idk what part of emergency is not clear to this establishment but I would've appreciated some understanding. I never once raised my voice or was rude, definitely panicked but I'm so disappointed with this place.
