It's a really cool place like a cat fairy garden/ retirement hospital. It's not easy working there but with the owners care and devotion to the animals it's rewarding knowing your not only helping the animals but the woman that would give the clothes on her back to the animals before she would let them starve or be abused again.
This place does good work. They help provide care for critically injured cats. Whether that's taking them to the emergency vet themselves, or helping people figure out where to go. I love going to the happy hour. They have outdoor/indoor enclosures, so the kitties can just roam. It's not a luxury cat cafe where you'll be served a cappuccino, and sit on a plush duvet. You do get a warm welcome, and the chance to spend time around some adorable cats. Remember some of the cats are rehabilitating. They might be scared, or have the sniffles. Regardless these are good cats that could use a loving home. Go check them out if you're in need of a new friend.
Wonderful people who do everything that they can to save, help, & protect cats. I took 2 cats that lived on the street up to them about 9 months ago. Only because I had to move & couldn't look out for them anymore. 1 was missing his back right leg & in pretty rough shape, because he could no longer defend himself that well. The other 1 I thought she was pregnant but I turned out she was sick & had some kind of infection. So with the 1 with 3 legs that was always getting beat up & showing up with new injuries & 1 that I assumed was pregnant was the reason why I started looking out for them in the first place. I took them both up there 1 night & they took them both in & helped them. I really grew attached to Tripod over the months before having to move. So I let them know that when I took them up there & said that I would do my best once I got moved & settled to come back for him. Fast forward about 9 months later. Because of the economy & the craziness of prices on everything, including my rent that went from $925 a month to $1,445 a month for a little bit smaller of a house in a worse neighborhood. But I won't talk about my anger on that & get political on you. We will stick with the cats & their story. Money is so tight I was unable to go back & get Tripod. But last week I got a text letting me know that Tripod was having a hard time & was not doing well. Not sure what's wrong it could be cancer. But they called to invite me up there to try to give him some love because he was starting to give up. She hoped that because in the past I had shown him so much attention & love that he might remember me caring for him. Maybe even just a visit would bring his spirits up & help him. I am so happy that she has kept me in the loop when it was something she didn't have to do & was trying anything only for the sake of helping him. I am going to do everything I can to try & become his foster. Times have been very hard for us the last couple years. It will take a long talk with my wife. I already know how it will go. We cannot afford it & its a terrible idea we both work too many hours & it's going to be very difficult with us having dogs & nowhere to really set up for him to have an area for himself safe away from the dogs when he needs it. The dogs are younger & like to play a lot. I don't know how well an older 3-legged cat will play with younger chihuahuas & a couple other breeds about the same size. But at the end I'm going to tell her we have to find a way because I can't not help him. The point is people that do all this work to help should get help. If U would like to adopt and/or Foster or support them they are worth it. Take your kids up there and help with your time. These are the kind of people that do so much good and never get the support they deserve and they could do so much more if they had that support. So if you love animals or just love cats and unlike myself you are a little bit wealthy and are looking for some kind of Charity to support I recommend giving them a call. On top of giving themselves everyday all day and night they put everything they have into taking care of these animals. It's amazing the work they do and how far they can stretch everything they can to take care of as many as they can. Sidenote; Even though you can't see his missing back right leg this is Tripod. He has an infection they have been treating. They have been having a hard time getting it to heal because with his back right leg missing he is rubbing his head on anything he can because of itching from it healing. Which obviously is making it worse and it's also an infection that they're having a hard time finding an antibiotic to stop it. But they keep trying to help him. Just good people helping and doing the best they can with what they have. I can only hope that somebody reads this at some point who has a big pile of money sitting in their attic not being used that absolutely loves animals and decides to help them be able to help them. U get it I think. LOL. Going to talk to my wife about Tripod now. Wish me luck.
I got a quick tour from Victoria, (tyvm) but just from what I saw, it is an amazing place for felines of all ages. What they are doing here is nothing short of miraculous. If you like cats, you should visit...(if you love cats, it's a bucket list place!)
Cats are all sick, some sort of upper respiratory infection. Nobody came out for 15min. These cats need rescuing from them. Sad to see. Response to your response:::Nobody was threatened, nor was I rude. I was in fact very nice. I asked what the rehoming fee was bc I actually wanted to adopt one and get him better. There was a mother with her child right next to me. I asked if they would have antibiotics to clear their upper respiratory infection or would be seen and then adoptable. I’ve owned a ton of cats and have volunteered for several years at a rescue. Most are upper respiratory.
**UPDATE** They have removed Tracie, the one who created this rescue, the one who gave all her time and money to these animals. I hope the board is ready to step up and spend many sleepless nights caring for these animals. I am disgusted that you’ve stolen what Tracie worked so hard to create. Shame on all of you!!! Tracie is the most amazing person ever and truly cares about each and every animal that comes through that rescue (not to mention all that don’t). I have known her (through the rescue) for well over 10 years. There is nothing she wouldn’t do to try and save each and every single one. I have 3 fur babies that have been through her rescue. Love Paw Warriors and Tracie!!! ❤️
