Just lost my catahoula after 10 yrs and was hoping to get a rescue pit as a companion to the other rescue pit we've had for over 10+ yrs. I called Jenks for some info and never got an answer. Then, I made my way out to their property and parked in front of the gate, which said to honk and wait, which I did, and again, no answer. So I'm clueless as to how you're supposed to get the ball rolling when you can't get in touch with anyone there. Good luck to those poor dogs. I hope this was a one-off for the dogs' sake. As I'm not a big fan of leaving negative reviews. ATTN OWNERS: Maybe put a buzzer o your gate to alert you to guests. I was fully prepared to adopt a puppy or adult dog that day.
Great rescue. The owner is very personable and cares a lot for all the animals in her care.
I made a substantial donation of items after visiting this rescue. Had a good time talking to the folks at Jenks and got to meet some adorable animals. However, we I reached out to see how the animals were enjoying the things I donated I never heard back. Couple months later I reached out to volunteer or foster. A friend of mine did as well, she has a lot of foster kitten experience, we never heard back. It’s very bizarre to me that this is how people in the community are treated by an organization that depends solely on the community to pay for the care of the animals. I try not to judge and who knows what someone is going through, but it is just weird. Not sure what to think about it… it’s disappointing to say the least.
Lots of animals, nice people. They like to set up visit times in advance, so please call first. 😊 I enjoyed talking with the parrots.
They just took 2abandon kittens maybe 5 days old. My heart feels better for them. Im gonna see about volunteering there. Can't wait. Thanks christina. Your the best.
This is an amazing ranch. They rescue disabled animals who have been left starved and abused by their owners. They rehabilitate the animals and put them up for adoption. They are a not for profit organization and need contributions to use towards medical needs for these animals.
