2/29/24 : Day 0 : So I'm homeless, I had no idea where to go, so I decided to go to rescue mission of Saltlake I had 2 bags on me a suitcase and backpack walked up the stairs to the door because that's the front door. As I go in, I talk to two people, one who ignored me and one who actually answered my question they both seem bit bored or not really caring bout their job, or they just seemed tired. Anyways you can apply to their life program 13 month program but apparently you cannot work until after 8 months so they allowed me in so here I am sitting in their homeless lobby waiting to get into the program so I could get a bed. I'm hoping things go well. I've read the reviews so I'm kinda nervous or hopeful in what has changed.
They don't have enough resources or programs to help people get a place to live & call home & they have a pshyco lunatic staying there that they won't deal with or kickoff & Ban him for life he starts fights with everyone & call,s them Child Molest ers his name is William walters & he,s a security threat to everyone in there and he targets other Men in That Shelter.
This place sucks bed bugs eating me alive. They don't take care of the bugs. They multiple by the day. The food is nasty too. It's like prison camp for homeless people.
My husband and I both joined and graduated this 13 month program. Yes, it's a shelter. The location downtown is for men and the women's is located somewhere else. What God did in us through this program is more than we ever imagined! We were homeless, addicted to drugs and lost. God provided a place for us to be safe and focus on healing. The staff are loving and truly care about each individual that walks through that door. If you have donated to the rescue mission, I thank you! My husband and I are truly grateful for you contributing to helping us. Thank you too the staff at the mission. Men's and women's center staff are some of our greatest supporters. They don't stop caring even after you graduate!
Cold food Not enough attention to their "Clients" and a bunch of fighting easiest shelter to get into in Utah BUT the Absolute Worst You want a bed Go To Ogden There's this Place Called the Lantern House the absolute best shelter in Utah and the 2nd easiest to get into it might even be the best shelter in the entire west. All I'm saying Yes it's a good option to be in SLC but it's the worst place to be homeless in Utah
I will give two stars, the second lowest rating because Curtis did at least let me be in the building and charge my phone but I’m still appalled that he is a Pastor or in charge of the Organization. I was verbally abused, I was yelled at, the guy managing the place has lousy anger management and this is a warning that if harassment happens after this notice, via online review, I will call the Police or file a civil rights complaint.
