Had an injured dog with open wound show up at our house. He has made himself at home and will not leave our back porch steps. He has been very sweet but I don't know how he would react to being moved due to pain from his injury. I called multiple places for help, last being this VERY UNHELPFUL GOVERNMENT FUNDED PLACE and was told they weren't taking any dogs! Huh??? When you have a telephone option to speak with a supervisor, there's a problem!

For starters, the staff matched my roommate with a dog that did not match what we needed. She specified cat friendly, he was NOT cat friendly. We were very clear on what we needed. We gave it time and it only got worse. They wouldnt take the dog back. They were rude we even asked. The dog almost killed my cats. It also turns out he has heartworm! The vet said it dates back to when he was in the shelter! One of their volunteers works with my husband, she was there when my roommate tried to return HER dog that almost killed MY cat. She harassed my husband about the fact at their place of work, extremely unprofessional. Regarding the heartworm treatment, I’ve volunteered with a shelter in Killeen that actually got their dogs tested and would treat their ailments, even continuing to pay for it post shelter if it’s something they had from the shelters.

I've called our local animal control on several occasions due to lose and aggressive dogs in our neighborhood. Each time animal control either never shows up or they never cite the responsible house/owner. They are a complete waste of time and waste of our tax dollars.

On my way home A couple of weeks ago I passed a cat who was laying in front of a drain off of second Avenue. It was after 5, so I called 911 bc I knew they would dispatch animal control and possibly save his life. The 911 operator was extremely kind and helpful… animal control not so much. Two hours later a man from animal control called and said his supervisor said he couldn’t get the cat out of the drain but I could drive down there, get the cat and hand it to him to take away. After explaining to him more than once that the cat wasn’t IN the drain he said he would go down there and let me know. I never heard back. Two weeks later and the car is still there and suffered next to trash until it died. This is not ok and I intend on contacting animal control.

I would rate this place no stars. A stray dog showed up at my house, she is a sweet and friendly dog. She was okay with my dog mind you, she and my dog were outside together and something triggered her to attack my dog (I do not blame her) she accidentally bit me in the process of her trying to fight my dog. After the whole incident happened she went back to being the sweetest baby. Animal control was called because of the accident. I was told they were going to quarantine her for ten day then re-assess her and put her up for adoption to a home without animals. Today I called to check on her because the incident happened yesterday December 1 2022 the lady who I spoke with said she is very lovable and if the owner does not come forward within ten days she will be euthanized as an aggressive animal. This breaks my heart because she ain’t aggressive she was triggered by something. All because she bit from being triggered she is now going to be euthanized instead of them working with her. We have a 50c Rescue this known nationwide I was at Muscogee County Humane society paws Someone had dropped off a little Pitt. She was brown with blue eyes in a Chihuahua ma with 2 puppies And And I beg this dug catch from the humane society to please let me have those dogs. I would take athem and give them home, and he refused to let me have those dogHe determined to take them to the pound and probably ethanism He could not tell me why he couldn't let me have those dogsThat which is dropped off in abandoned. And I don't understand that at all but all I It's beg him and beg him and beg him. And he refused and couldn't answer that question I don't understandEven cried begging him. He's still would not let me have babythat was just abandoned.it broke. My heart knowing what everything I have to do and get through it. When they could have just let me have them and that'd been perfectly fine.
