Description At the Happy Little Rescue, we focus on creating an enriched, stress-free environment for rescue pets to grow and thrive until they find their perfect match. Be a part of rescue by checking out a dog for a walk, hike, or even overnight! Due to a small staff, we can sometimes accommodate walk ins from 9-3, but it’s easier to make an appointment by text, email, or phone call. Volunteers are always welcome! Both the foster and adoption processes are simple and flexible. We help you find the best fit and will accept the pets back any time, no matter what. We believe there is a match for everyone so pets and people can live in harmony. Thanks for adopting, fostering, or donating our nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary.
The kitten I adopted from here was trained to use the litter box and responds to her name. She is a very well-behaved kitten and I feel lucky to have adopted from here. They seem to put a lot of time and consideration into reviewing the applications as well since it took a few days, but it seemed to work out as she is a perfect fit in my household so be patient.
Harmony is a no-kill animal shelter where beautiful creatures like goats, pigs, and sheep can live out their life happy and well cared for. They appreciate volunteers who can come wash the dogs, play with the kittens and puppies to help socialize them for future adoptions. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. They answered all of our questions and helped us fill out our volunteer applications. We are going to try and volunteer here weekly as the outdoor play area with the older dogs and puppies with so much fun. They also allow boarding, which makes it convenient when you adopt an animal from here, so that you can bring them back while you are at work and they are happy as can be.
My grandma wanted to adopt a dog from here because she recently lost her 12-year-old boxer. They told her that she could keep him for the night to see if she liked him and that she could come in the next day to pay for him. When she came in to pay and officially adopt him, they just gave him to someone else. They got her hopes up about a new dog just to take it away when she was already trying to grieve the boxer who just passed away. If you let them take it home for the night and they decide they want to adopt him, why take it away at the last minute?
I adopted a dog last year and thus began my adventures as a volunteer dog walker and socializer for the Rescue. Every week I witness the devotion and optimism of the ladies of Happy Little Rescue and it rubs off onto me. So far I've made my little contribution toward the adoptions of 14 dogs. I hope this encourages you to foster, adopt or volunteer.
Went with my daughter to donate baked goods for a money raising event! So many beautiful animals! Staff is fantastic! Find it in your heart to adopt not shop!
Happy Little Rescue is the only place I recommend in Junction. Staff is helpful and extremely caring with their animals. I adopted Pyoehoe a year ago and he has been doing wonderfully. After moving to an apartment without my fiancés cats in Denver, pyoehoe got lonely and we got him a friend from the rescue, Reagan. They are the best of friends. I left a review saying that Pyoehoes medical records were wrong; saying he was a boy but he was actually a girl. I apologize. The vet in Denver was wrong, and Happy Little Rescue was right. He is, a boy. I used to volunteer at the rescue (I don’t anymore because I cannot afford to adopt another animal and I know I would if I volunteered), and the dogs were always in great hands and happy. If you’re planning on adopting (adopt don’t shop!) from this non-profit, do it!!! Best decisions I’ve ever made.
