My sweet girl, Dakota was ready to cross the rainbow bridge after battling degenerative myelopathy (a horrible disease that took everything from my sweet baby), and I am so thankful for the staff at VEG. We planned to have in home services, but Dakota went down hill quickly overnight and it was her time. The process: I called first and was texted a link to check in. Once I arrived I went in first to let them know I was there and then went and got Dakota, and they took us straight to a private comfort room. They also allowed me to bring Dakotas bed, a blanket and some toys and she was able to be on her bed the entire time (I highly recommend doing this if you are bringing them in for end of life services so they are comfortable). The vet tech came in and we went over the process, and this included taking all the time we needed before and after to be with Dakota. They did not rush us at all. They told us we could spend the entire day there if we needed to. Then the vet came in and did an assessment on Dakota and reassured me of my decision without telling me what to do. They will then come back and insert an IV, and once you are ready, you press a button and the vet will come back in and administer the medication. They will give you time after and you press the button again when you’re ready for them to take your sweet baby away. Dakota was so comfortable and at peace throughout the entire process just like she was at home. The staff: Dr. Bradley was our vet, and she was so compassionate and kind. From the second I met Dr. Bradley, I had full and complete trust in her. She truly was an angel, and I can not thank her enough for how amazingly kind she was not only to my sweet girl, but to us as well. The vet tech Aja was incredibly kind as well. She brought in a plate for Dakota with pepperonis, cheese and whipped cream and a bowl of water. They both showed so much care, kindness, and compassion. They answered all of our questions, they loved on our girl, and they provided so much support for us on the hardest day of my life. I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Bradley and Aja. We are forever grateful for how sweet you were with us and our best friend Dakota. “The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.” We love you forever Dakota Bear. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in caring for George! This staff is not only knowledgeable and skilled, but they are amazing people. I am so very grateful! I was sent over to VEG for my cat, George, by Katy Urgent Vet Clinic for a blocked bladder. The VEG team was calm, yet quick, to respond. We were treated with such great care, and I was invited to be involved in every step of the process. Although George needed to stay for 3 nights, I was comforted knowing that he would be in the best care.
We were transferred to VEG Katy by my baby’s Vet on Monday, May 13, 2024 because he needed a blood transfusion. We were greeted and they immediately began assessing Tyson. The next 24 hours there were the hardest for my son and I. First off, let me say that I’m in the medical field and have been part of a Surgical OR team for 24 years. In a hospital we know that there are many personalities. Some are very kind and some aren’t. Never in my life have I met a group of individuals or gone to an emergency/hospital where EVERYONE and I do mean every single person is kind and shows love to everyone and anyone who walked through those doors. The compassion that was shown to my son and I was beyond anything I ever experienced. Having to make the decision to let our baby go to be with God was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Tyson was our entire world! God knew we needed to be around a team of individuals like them. I can’t speak for any location but the Katy location will always have a special place in our hearts. I wanted to do this review now so that if anyone is reading reviews looking for a place to take their baby, the Katy location supersedes top tier. When I can face going back there, I intend to go back and let them know how much their love and compassion not just for our baby but to my son and I truly meant to us. Also, to see how we can help bring awareness to other pups being blood donors. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart!! We will never forget the compassion and warmth that was shown to us♥️
Had an absolutely stellar experience during a very scary time. I wish I could remember everyone's names, because I want to give everyone a huge shout-out! Dr. Bradley, Michelle, Vanessa, and everyone else were all phenomenal. The staff here are warm, kind, and want to make sure that both you and your pets feel safe and welcomed. They were constantly attending to one pet or another and nobody was left alone for very long. They provide a wide array of services there in the ER. I saw the doctor very quickly after we were seen by a nurse, and she immediately presented her differential and treatment plan to us. I cannot speak anymore highly about my experience here. To everyone at VEG, THANK YOU for what you do!
A Heartfelt Ode to Veterinary Emergency Group: Where Compassion Meets Excellence On the evening of December 19, 2023, my beloved 12-year-old Shihpoo, Spark, faced a critical health crisis. Following a blood transfusion that led to TRALI disease, we found ourselves in dire need of immediate veterinary care. It was then that we turned to the Veterinary Emergency Group, a decision that I will forever regard as a lifesaving one. From the moment we rushed through their doors, the sense of urgency and compassion was palpable. The medical team, led by the extraordinary Dr. Harris and Dr. Freeman, sprang into action with a proficiency and kindness that was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Their down-to-earth demeanor, coupled with an unwavering dedication to their profession, was a beacon of hope in our hour of need. Dr. Garnier, Dr. Romero, and Dr. Sekar were instrumental in treating Spark, showcasing a level of expertise and care that went above and beyond. Their crucial involvement in his recovery process deserves immense gratitude. The Vet Technicians - Jocelyn,Stephanie, Bethany, Nick, Aja, and Abbie - were more than just professionals doing their job; they were compassionate guardians of Spark's comfort and well-being. Their empathy shone through in every action, every decision, making an incredibly stressful situation just a bit more bearable. For four nights, as my daughter and I stayed vigil by Spark's side, the staff provided us with sleeping arrangements, accommodating our needs and anxieties with patience and understanding. They not only tolerated my endless questions but welcomed them, ensuring I was a part of every step in Spark's care. Their policy of an open concept treatment area, allowing us to be with Spark throughout, was a source of immense comfort. In this trying time, every member of the Veterinary Emergency Group demonstrated an extraordinary blend of professionalism, empathy, and kindness. Their dedication to both their furry patients and their human companions is exemplary. To the Veterinary Emergency Group, I extend my deepest gratitude. You did not just treat my furry boy Spark; you touched our hearts and gave us hope. Your exceptional care and kindness will forever be remembered and appreciated.
This is hands down the best vet my fiancé or I have ever been to. We had an emergency with our 14 year old dog who stopped being able to walk. We took her in the morning and Dr. Zawada and Michelle immediately welcomed her with friendly and professional care. Our dog really felt comfortable in their hands, and they got her the right medicine and treatment she needs. Within a few hours she’s already up and walking significantly better than she was in the morning. I highly recommend taking your loved pets to them.
