Description We are a Veterinary clinic specialized in Veterinary Ophthalmology. We have 2 veterinary ophthalmologists on staff and a fantastic team. We attend small animals (dogs and cats), exotics (rabbits, small rodents, reptiles, amphibeans, and birds). We can also coordinate with one of our ophthalmologists a visit to check large animals such as horses, farm animals, or zoo / acuarium animals.

I did a two-week externship as a veterinary student with Dr. Sanabria and it was a great experience. The practice manager, Jess was extremely welcoming and all of the nurse technicians were super friendly. I got to see a wide variety of cases and was able to observe how Dr. Sanabria approaches his patients from start to finish, with a chance during each exam to come up with my own diagnosis and discuss it with him after the consultation. Surgeries were also very interesting to sit in on, and Dr. Rainbow had me watch him perform a cataract surgery which was great. Whether you are a veterinary student seeking ophthalmology experience, or a pet owner in need of eye care for your pet, I would highly recommend Animal Eye Medical & Surgical Specialists!

We are fortunate to have these specialists so close to us! Dr. Sarabia is wonderful, the nurses are wonderful, the front desk ladies are wonderful! Thank you for taking such good care of our fur son!!!!! One week after an ulcer was removed and he's all healed!

As the founder of a rescue, we had a sweet male cat who had an issue with his eye. His third eyelid was covering half of his eye. We were worried it was bothering him, but it wasn't. We wanted to make sure he was healthy and adoptable. Our vet asked us to reach out to Dr. Rainbow. They did a surgery on him, and his eye looks amazing. Look at the before and after pics. my dog was scratched in the eye by a cat & I took him immediately to VEG where he was prescribed an eye drop & a pain medication. After following up with our primary vet, she referred us to AEMSS. I must admit I was scared by the negative reviews, but I trust my primary vet greatly so I decided to check out AEMSS & i’m so glad that I did. Dr. Sanabria helped my dogs eye heal almost completely & was so kind & supportive throughout the process!

Took my cat here, gave her a gabapentin 2 hours prior because she can be feisty. She did fine with the tech and pressure test. Rainbow came in and didn’t even say 2 words to me, did not tell me what he was planning on doing. I suggested I should hold her during the tests with rainbow but they essentially refused and she became agitated too which Mr rainbow LITERALLY threw up his hands not once but twice and made and ugh sound. Then suggested sedation and surgery without even attempting to try again. All he gave me was suggestions of what it could be, quoted me a 1500 procedure that he himself said he didn’t know of it would work. With his horrible bedside manner, lack of explanation, less than 2 min attempting to see my cat, and awful attitude towards her I wouldn’t let him touch her with a 10 foot pole. Based on his interaction with her while I was present, I felt wildly uncomfortable to allow him any interaction with her when I wasn’t present in fear of how he would treat her. He didn’t seem to like being a veterinarian. When I left they had the audacity to say everything they did was covered in the $200 deposit. They literally didn’t do ANYTHING. There are so many other vets and ophthalmologists in the surrounding areas that it would be better to drive 500 miles than take your pet here.

We love the staff here. They were all very kind when they prepped us to see Dr. Rainbow. We had the most interaction with Diana, she's the best! She gives great explanations and answers all questions. She also gave helpful suggestions on giving Bruno his medicine.
