After seeing this 3 year old Cane for adoption we called. She was on the top part of the list to be put to sleep they said. As she had been there since December 18, 2023. We decided to adopt her. We asked all the questions. How is she with dogs, as we have 3. “Oh she’s great she’s been through our testing.” We go in on 2/3 to pick her up. They bring her out, she is skin and bones. My husband immediately says we are taking her, she’s gonna die here. I agreed. The picture below is the day we got home. Well she’s super dog aggressive. Even after a week she is. Although through a FB post we have training help now. She is very sweet and gentle with people though. I’m not sure how she is with kids and cats as we don’t have any. We were not going to take her back to be starved and killed at the shelter, so we were going to get her spayed and began looking at rescues and put out re homing FB posts. We decided she would be delivered and the home vetted by us to ensure she was the only animal. Well the shelter had volunteers in a FB that printed these out. They took them into the director to get me cited or fined. The workers and volunteers harassed, bullied, threatened, and berated us mercilessly. The shelter sent us an email. I called they threatened to “throw the book at me” if I didn’t bring her back instead of finding her a better home. So we are keeping her and working with a trainer. We refuse to give her back to be starved and killed. We refuse to bow down to these cyber bullies. If a private citizen had a dog this emaciated they would be charged with abuse and neglect. Yet this shelter can do it and be defended for it from their employees and volunteers. The shelter employee who fosters had the audacity to comment on a FB that it’s the dogs fault for not eating in that environment. Seriously??? Never adopt from this shelter. I have read other reviews on here and they are horrific. This shelter should be shut down, or at best fire them all. Our community and its innocents that can’t speak for themselves deserve better than starvation and abuse.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, I had to self-surrender my dog for euthanasia. He is an 8 1/2yr old pit and was very sick. We tried everything to get him well but nothing worked. The people at Animal Control were so kind and understanding. When they took him to the medical room, they were very gentle my little old man 😢😭

DONT ADOPT PETS HERE ! We adopted a dog from here and the dog was EXTREMELY sick and throwing up blood . We brought her back the next day and the front desk lady with the black hair was SOOOOO RUDE ! A couple weeks later we came back to adopt another dog and they said we couldn’t adopt from them anymore because they had to spend 1000 dollars getting the dog fixed . The dog was sick when we got her ! This place is unprofessional and the front desk staff is VERY VERY VERY RUDE !!!! Please make sure you get the dog checked after purchasing!

Adopted our sweet piper. A 8 week old Queensland heeler mix on 8/4/22 brought her home and noticed the next few few days she had diarrhea and was vomiting up her food. We took her to the vet and she had parvo and coccidia and unfortunately passed away just 3 days after. I contacted the shelter to inform them of her passing and there was absolutely no sympathy what so ever from the woman on the phone simply said “ok we’ll mark her as decease”. Absolutely terrible no compassion for a few minute phone call. I asked to speak with the director and she stated “I’ll leave a message and hopefully he’ll call back”. It’s been 3 days and still no return phone call or email back that I sent. I want to raise awareness of this, Something needs to change. I can’t be the only one lately who’s adopted a sick dog. Felt like I was saving her life and she ended up losing it anyway. Paid for a sick dog and to have to explain to three small children why their new puppy isn’t with us anymore after just being her owner for 9 days. Not to mention our other 3 healthy dogs who I hope do not contract this now. Absolutely terrible

Do not feed strays that wander into your yard and call this place to get them picked up, I was informed that if you feed them they are now yours and they will charge you upwards of 100 dollars to "surrender" an animal that isn't yours... They're trying to force pets down people's throats

This place should be shut down. They have a reputation for giving the public sick dogs, and lying about the dogs health. Please research your shelters throughly before getting a new loved one. It will save your family and kids from going through a lot of trauma. Unfortunately the dog I got had distemper and that affected his brain. He experienced multiple seizures daily that could not be controlled by medication.
