Not taken care of properly (smells like neglect) will only take dogs they think have a chance to profit off of. Told us to go to the humane shelter IN PERSON, after telling us they had available spots for dogs needing a home. The dogs at doggy daycare probably get the best treatment but only because they get payed to do so. SO THEIR NOT A KILL SHELTER BUT WILL SEND YOU AND YOUR DOG TO ONE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PETS
I love Bandit and my experience with no hound unhomed was incredible. If you are looking for a new forever pet look no further. I've been looking for a dog for years and when I could finally afford one, I found Bandit (then Quil). I couldn't be happier with him or NHU, at 9 weeks he was (for the most part) house trained already and how amazing is that. Bandit himself is so amazing in his own right that I could brag about him for days.
We adopted our pup, Kiwi, from No Hound Unhomed almost a year ago, and we just adore her. She is the sweetest, most snuggley pitbull I've ever met. I love that they have the two week trial period (even though we only needed a minute to fall in love) to ensure that the pups will be a good fit in the home. They genuinely seem to care deeply about the dogs and strive to find them the best home possible. No Hound Unhomed is a great rescue and we will forever be grateful to them for allowing us to add Kiwi to our family. Thanks for everything! :)
I adopted a lovely dog from No Hound Unhomed rescue organization last week. I like their overall adoption rules, particularly the two week mandatory adoption policy, as it helps to ensure the match between dog and new owner is a good one. I highly recommend them! No Hound Unhomed rescue is located at the Camp Bow Wow site at their Garden of the Gods location, but they have other rescue dogs at their other locations too. The available dogs are also posted on Petfinder...go get 'em !!
I am thankful for No Hound Unhomed for connecting me with Casa, my sweet but rough-around-the-edges boxer. Casa is a special girl that needed a loving home and we were just the home for her. I especially love boxers and am used to their antics. She came to us with quirks for sure...she growled at my husband regularly, barked like a banshee at the front door and had some dog aggression, but nothing I hadn't seen before. She immediately got along with my min pin and that is saying a lot for both of them! They became the best of friends. It turns out this growly, strangly mannered dog was a lover. She was a growler but never hurt anyone, it turns out she is very vocal. She never once destroyed the tiny toys of my min pin, and while she might have scared the daylights out of passersby (our backyard fence has a sidewalk next to it), she has a heart of gold and I'm sure in a dangerous situation she would have protected us with her life. When I leave the house she faithfully sits in the chair by the front window until I return. I write this because my girl is getting old and her health is deteriorating and it breaks my heart. My understanding is that Casa went through the Humane Society first but was deemed not a good candidate for their facility. I can understand that because she is unsure of strangers and scared of the vet, she could have easily been deemed a dangerous dog. No Hound Unhomed took her in, saw past her quirks, believed in her and gave her another chance at life. I can tell you, they succeeded. Thank you No Hound Unhomed.
Love No Hound Unhomed. We got our amazing dog here and Shasta is fantastic to work with. Adrienna too.
