They saved our dog's life! We rescued a 14 year old chihuahua who went into congestive heart failure the day after we brought him home. We first took him to Beacon ER since it was closer to our house, but needed to transfer him to TBVS for a cardiology consult. They immediately saw him through the ER service and after a night of hospitalization he was stabilized and was able to come home with us. The cardiologist saw him the very next day for a definitive diagnosis. He has now been with us for a month and is thriving! Thank you so much to the TBVS team for saving our new rescue Taquito. We could not be more grateful!

We are forever grateful for the care, compassion and expertise of the staff here, especially Drs. Fernandez and Oakes and their teams. Through difficult procedures and treatments over many months, our very large and sometimes insecure and people-reactive dog was comfortable and adored the staff, all of whom confidently helped him through everything. This was also very helpful so that when emergencies came up outside of normal hours, it was already a familiar, safe place for him. Thank you.

My experience with Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center left much to be desired. Unfortunately, I can't say it was a positive one. Firstly, communication was severely lacking throughout my pet's overnight stay. As a pet owner, being kept in the dark about my furry friend's condition and treatment plan was incredibly distressing. I expected better communication from a reputable veterinary facility. What's more, despite providing detailed information about my pet's recent veterinary visit and treatment, the center administered the same treatment again without consulting me. Not only was this concerning in terms of my pet's well-being, but it also resulted in an unjustified overcharge of over $4,000. Feeling like I was being taken advantage of during such a vulnerable time was disheartening, to say the least. Overall, my experience with Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care Center fell far short of my expectations. From poor communication to questionable decision-making and unjustified overcharging, I can't recommend this facility to fellow pet owners who prioritize transparent and compassionate care for their beloved animals.

I can't thank the Dr. Oakes & his staff enough for taking such wonderful care of our Bella Rose!! They were all kind, courteous, & so knowledgeable!! We Love Dr. Oakes, he really saved Bella's life!! We will always be forever grateful for him!!!!

Excellent doctors and nurses. Very attentive and compassionate while delivering excellent care - which is extremely important given the nature of of specialist vet services. However, I feel that the front desk staff lacks these characteristics. I waited several visits to make sure it was not an outlier experience, but have noticed a trend. I want to give 5 stars as the Veterinary staff is phenomenal, but reception is very aloof (which is strange to me, given the nature of the business). Thank you for taking great care of my pets during these crucial moments.

Posting again from my secondary email to add that the emergency staff at this location is just as lovely as the oncology team. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place, the way they conduct business, and the care they take in our pets. we've had a less than ideal situation with our foster dog, and the primary vet for him was unable to correctly diagnose his issues. one trip to tampa bay vet specialists and we have a new treatment plan that has him feeling significantly better in just a matter of days. can't thank them enough for all of their help!
