I adopted my sweet boy, Hiccup WIYL, on 1/25 and I really have nothing negative to say about the shelter or the adoption process. During the time I filled out his application, he was in foster care and the foster emailed me the same afternoon and we were able to schedule a meeting for the following day. The shelter staff themselves were friendly and kind, and when it came time to fill out the adoption information, it was simple and fairly quick. I appreciate them sending some food and a blanket with him as well. He's been such a lovely addition and he is warming up to everyone nicely 🖤

We’ve now adopted 2 dogs here & we’ve had such incredible experiences. The employees are always nice & helpful. When reaching out to them - they are quick to respond. They seem like genuine people that you want working at a humane society. They always have great things to say about each & every dog all while being informative with each of their personalities & needs. We’re so thankful for this place!!!!

During a situation beyond control, friend's dog ended up being taken there by Animal Control. Every interaction I had with staff at CMHS was pleasant. They were respectful and understanding and willing to help. Kind hearted and provided me with the information I needed to to retrieve my furry friend. Would have been nice if they were who I had to deal with. Unfortunately, Animal Control guy was the exact opposite. On phone told me what do to go to but no other info, had an attitude and snapped at me for not knocking, but door was ajar. A "dog cop" is just as egotistical as the other cops, probably mad he couldn't make it to the big leagues. Please don't judge this place by the Animal control office but by the wonderful staff who are there everyday.

I went there a few days ago looking for a cat, and found my best friend. The moment she was placed in my arms I knew it was meant to be, and I was pleasantly right. She’s my perfect baby, and I have the Central Missouri Humane Society to thanks! All the staff were helpful and informative.

Excellent experience, again. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The facility is clean and well kept and the dogs are well cared for. I left there with a beautiful 65lb puppy named 'Guapo'. Pretty boy and I are a perfect fit.

This is Lelo and Rosie, they are approximately 4 months old and up for adoption at CMHS! They are super sweet, cuddle bugs and great with children of all ages!
