Columbia’s conservation department and animal control has zero regard for public safety. Myself and my dog had a close encounter with a coyote on campus last night in which the coyote followed myself and my dog until I turned quickly to go down a pathway hidden to the eye. Called this in to see if they could monitor the area, set up a trap or remove it so that it does not attack a person or their pet but was told nothing could be done. Not only were they unwilling to provided any solution to the issue but they showed blatant attitude and disrespect over the phone. I should be able to walk my dog at night in a populated area without worries of being attacked by a potentially diseased animal.
