i had an amazing experience today! I read the reviews before coming, and some negative ones had me a bit worried. But that was no the case at all. Upon arrival, the front desk staff greeted us kindly and helped us right away. We had emailed in our application and then got to view all of the dogs at our leisure before deciding which dogs we wanted to play with and meet one on one. Melanie, a volunteer, was SO sweet and SO helpful. She truly made this process easy and stress free for our first time adopting. We got to spend as much time as we needed with our dogs of interest, we were never rushed, everyone was beyond kind. They take such good care of their animals and it shows. Yes it was busy, but that’s the nature of it! They work super hard to meet everyone’s needs. The process couldn’t have been better, and we will definitely come back when we’re ready to give our sweet puppy a sibling!
The location is clean, larger than it looks inside. The office team are very busy but do not lack on caring, smiles and answering questions. Be prepared with your ID and a pen before being able to meet a prospective new family member. The cost is high for adoption but we'll worth all they do for the assurance the animal you see ready to adopt should do well in public, in a home, and all medical is fully looked over. My puppy mill rescued Mother, named Macy by them, is now Winnie who is coming around extra nicely. Having a Yorki in the home to help guide her how to be a dog helps too. I cannot say enough good things . They sent us on our way with everything she could need and with option to use the lower priced vet on site in Boca.
Nice place that’s no kill which I greatly support but $550 to rescue a dog or you can’t give him a home?! I’m so confused. I asked if they could slightly lower the price and lady at desk says no. Are they really trying to give an animal a loving family then?! Very disappointed they would prefer all that money then see an animal loved properly. I understand it takes money to run the shelter but finding animals good homes should be more of the goal then every dollar. Way to many animals put down every year and this would be another cage open for a new animal to come in and get a second chance. It really disturbed me.
Staff was excellent I met my new dog Tito and adopted him that day. He is sooo awesome and chill! Please adopt they have more doggies that needs good homes. My dog was there since last year he is from Puerto Rico. His name was montito but I shortened it to Tito.
Our 17 year old Westie passed away in Dec 22, and we have been in search of another adult Westie for six months. On Saturday we saw a picture of a 3 year old Westie mix on Petfinder. He was sheltered for four days at the Tri County Animal Rescue. We decided to go down to meet him sort of at the last minute. It was “love” at first sight! He Sat so quietly in his cage, looking so sad and forlorn. He wasn’t barking or jumping, just quietly looking around for his people. We took him out and sat with him twice before really knowing we couldn’t leave without him! And, are we ever so happy we found him and brought him home. We were warned he was high energy and an escape artist. So far we found he responds to commands, sit, stay, etc and is crate trained!!! He is loving, loves to cuddle and we are having the best time! Thank you TriCounty Animal shelter for rescuing this extraordinary young dog. Through DNA, we found he is a mix of husky, Maltese, poodle and bichon. He has found his forever home!!! Welcome Dash, we love you!❤️
I adopted a dog only yesterday, so add my detailed experience a bit later. Updated in five weeks. Lexy is a wonderful dog, she learns how to live in a loving family very quickly, still scared of strangers though. But we are working on it.
