Description The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center is a 24,000-square-foot open admission companion animal shelter. As part of our service to the citizens of Montgomery County, our agency takes in thousands of dogs & cats each year. In addition to direct adoptions, the Animal Resource Center, part of the Dayton Alliance for Companion Animals, works with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton and the SICSA Pet Adoption Center along with many placement partners to find homes for as many dogs and cats as possible.

Clean facility and sweet pups! The staff was very educated and informative when helping me chose my perfect match and the adoption process was a breeze! They also had awesome outdoor “get to know” play yards for adopters and volunteers to use. You can tell the pups are well taken care of ❤️
We adopted Buddy(called Baby then) in June 2020. Staff truly cared about the dogs and were 100% honest about what we were getting ourselves into. Buddy has truly blossomed in our home, and I can't imagine a day without him. I was leery about getting a Pit, but none of the stereotypes were true. He is, however, leery of adult strangers but loves kids and other dogs.
I love rescued dogs. We went looking for a small dog, Because we had to put our shepherd to sleep a few weeks ago. In which we got her from here. She was in pain and full of Cancer. RIP Mya we love you.
We like to go Saturday morning, my 4 year old,1 year old husband and I give treats cuddle and play with the dogs. My favorite thing is my 4 year old "reads" to a dog when we go. It's so sweet, and we find a lot of amazing dogs this way.
All employees there are very nice. The experience of choosing a cat was hard... I wanted the last 2 but I had to choose 1. I got the most gorgeous black cat with bright green eyes. He’s a sweetheart but my other cat hasn’t decided if he likes the new cat. I guess we’ll be working on that.........
My dog got out of my yard while I was at work. Thankfully someone in my neighborhood found him and took him here. He didn't have a tag, so they didn't know who to contact. Luckily I saw a Facebook post from the Lady who took him there and I was able to find and pick him up. While he was there...they took EXCELLENT care of him by washing him, covering him up with a blanket (which they let me keep and take him home in it) and giving him food and water. It was a cold and rainy day. So his body temperature was very low. The whole experience was scary for me...but they did an A+ job. Great staff of very caring people.
