I called for a Rosia Spoonbill that had fishing line wrapped around its beak and foot. I believe it was AJ that came out within the hour, he said he wasn't close to us, he promptly took care of the birds problem and released it. I will recommend and call on them anytime there is a bird need. He was very good with the bird. Thanks,

We had been trying to get help several days for an anhinga with fishing line or fabric wrapped around his beak. We were referred to Florida Bird Rescue by Birds in Helping Hands. I called late Friday afternoon, left a message on an answering machine, then texted my contact info, some pictures, a map. Given the time of day, I figured we wouldn’t hear anything until Saturday if then, so we went out to dinner, and would call back next morning. Boy, was I wrong! While we were out, a person from Florida Bird Rescue tried to text me, (restaurant noise must have muffled my phone), then he (or she?) came out to Eastlake Woodlands from Clearwater, caught our bird, removed the fabric and reported back to me that our anhinga was now fishing in the lake. After returning home, we walked over to the lake and were so very happy to see our bird, showing us his head and long neck only while he was fishing for his first meal in several days. Thank you Florida Bird Rescue!

Returned home last night to find a beautiful osprey at our door. Looked distressed so we called this Rescue and they acted quickly to retrieve this bird. The gentleman that rescued it was so kind and even messaged us that he was taking it for an evaluation today. I highly recommend these folks and suggest a kind donation to save these beautiful creatures.

This was third group we called. Within an hour or so they had caught the troubled anhinga, cleared the fabric from its beak and released it. We have since walked to the pond and confirmed that it is fishing normally. Fantastic!
