I cannot think of a better place in Central Virginia. If you have an animal that is part of your family. There is no better place to bring that pet then to a family-owned hospital. They will treat your pet family member like one of their own. The staff works intricately with the health providers. To achieve the best care and service imaginable for your furry family member. Not only do they listen. Their compassionate. Constantly going above and beyond the services of other organizations. My family and I have entrusted our furry family members to these wonderful veterinarians for over 8 years. I would highly recommend them to my best friend and anybody looking for the best service possible The staff is cheerful and extremely friendly. The office examination rooms and waiting room are top-notch. They are impeccably clean. In the outside grounds provide more than adequate usable space for your furry animals to do their business. In a safe clean tidy environment. Offering receptacles outside. So that you can dispose of any deposits left by your furry friend upon their visit.

Can't say enough good things about this office. Dr Jay went out of his way to help Rascal feel comfortable. After severe trauma from anesthesia 7 years ago, my cat typically is nightmare to take to an office. We had our first visit last December and all of the staff made a point to get down on the floor with him, engaging very gently. The staff were very encouraging to me to hold him for procedures and listened to my suggestions of what helps him cope well. As a result they got all the tests, labs, and exams they needed. We went back yesterday for sedated dental work and again it went incredibly smoothly. The tech offered to me to stay with him during the sedative injection and while it took effect, while properly preparing me for what I would observe if I chose to do so. She came back frequently to check both on him and me before then taking straight to the procedure table. Procedure went very well, he was back home within two hours of sedation, and by the evening was 100% back to his normal sassy self. Thank you colonial!

Thank you Jane, Dr. Dolan and Dr. Jay for your incredible care of Gru. I was incredibly nervous about my dog’s dental and extractions and the subsequent pain he was in, the team at this office got us in quickly and provided reassurance the entire time (like, in the operating room 🥲). Gru is feeling much better today. We love the people at colonial vet and will always come back.

This has been the veterinary hospital for our family's pets since the 1960s. The location has changed a couple of times over the years, but what hasn't changed is the exceptional compassion and care given to our dogs, first by Dr. Jeffrey Buck and then Drs. Kevin Riley and Jennifer Fetterman. Spooky, Webster, Cleo, Lucy, Jackie, Boston Blackie, Charlie Brown, Molly, Alex, Rex and his eight litter mates would surely agree.
