Our mission is to ensure that families of all means have access to treatment options they can afford for their canine and feline companions. As an expansion of the Richmond SPCA's pet-retention services, the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital will help pets stay with their families while enjoying a greater quality of life.

These folks were as concerned about us as they were our pet. They comforted us and made our visit as pleasant as they could. We had to put our pet down. They gave us a cast paw print of our pet for future memories. God bless these folks and their efforts!!

Dropped off one of the boys for a tumor removal today. The care of the receiving staff was great. Everyone was kind, thorough and thoughtful. Really appreciated that kind of care while dropping off a loved one for a surgery. Also, he was totally cool in the waiting area.

Highly DO NOT recommend. !Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time here. My Primary vet referred me here. I called them checking in on the status so i could schedule an appointment. All i got was “Susan is in surgery right now. she will take a look at it tomorrow & decide if she wants to do the procedure & then i’ll give you a call back” I patiently waited 24 hrs for a call back, so i called the next day, checking up again. I got the whole same run around again, i was very nice & understanding. & nicely asked “could you please put a note on my file that says ‘ that the mass is growing VERY quickly so i need a yes or no answer soon , so in case not i can find another specialist” Still no call back.. i called back every day for 2 weeks. NOTHING. it’s been 3 weeks now & i still have not recieved any phone calls. It’s VERY unprofessional, inconsiderate, and careless. Luckily, i found some place else, Same day i called i got an appointment within that same week.
