I adopted a kitten. They assured me he’s flea free and on treatment. We have zero other pets in the home, as sadly my service dog passed a year ago, he’s obviously an indoor cat. He’s 11 weeks old and I’ve had to give him two dawn baths and comb with a flea comb. I’m hoping I got them all but halo refused to cover any vet fees. Or wave any adoption fees. They said we can take him back. Yeah like I’m going to give my child to you after you clearly didn’t take care of him. It’s very dangerous for young kittens and puppies to have fleas like this. I’m absolutely disgusted. If you plan on adopting from this shelter bring a flea comb and brush them yourself to be sure. I’ve been a professional certified pet groomer since 2017, I know fleas and what they can do. I just hope my little baby doesn’t have any blood issues like anemia related to this enormous mistake. Halo should be ashamed. And they should shut down the mall location until they make sure it’s disinfected and clear of fleas.

I didn’t come home with a cat. The Director didn’t like that I smoke, and Maxie was vicious. As in attacking and biting. The Director further asked if I smoke in my house or car. She also called my Property Manager to see if I paid my $500 pet fee. She advised me that her Father died from lung cancer, and that she never smoked. She was mean and quite condescending. I’ll find someone who wants a cat to have a safe, loving home, without wanting everything but a blood test. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran a background check. 🙄

Terrible experience. I put a deposit down for a kitten and everything went well, then they all of a sudden denied me. They were extremely rude and had the worst customer service. I asked why they denied me and they could not even give me a proper answer. They are very uneducated and truly do not know how to do their jobs. How unprofessional is that? I wonder how many times this has happened to people. What’s the point of an adoption center if you’re going to let these poor animals grow up in cages? The point is to put them in safe homes; not keep them locked up!

wouldn’t let me adopt 2 kittens because my skin is a little darker , supposedly my landlords number didn’t check out even though they called him and spoke to him within 2 minutes of informing me about their policy about contacting my land lord . From the very beginning when i walked in they didn’t want me to adopt the kittens.

Adopted Cleo our new baby from Halo. Pam was wonderful to work with. Love that Cleo came spade, had all her shots, was tested for all diseases and parasites and had great tips on bringing a new kitten into the home. They truly try to find homes that they know the cats will be properly cared for.
