We just adopted an absolutely perfect puppy. We couldn't be happier! My boyfriend has always wanted a puppy, and I have always wanted to adopt one. He assumed rescues wouldn't have puppies, or they'd be adopted already. Kern saves so many dogs that I promise you'll find one right for you! I also want to add that our little guy was with a foster before we picked him up. I don't know who the fosters are, but they are incredible. We can tell he was well looked after, loved, and socialized well. If you're looking to add to your family and save a deserving life, I highly recommend Kern County Animal Services!

Picked up my dog and he was left in his own feces and wasn't even rinsed and they knew I was coming to pick him up. He can't walk as well anymore due the the lack of movement and care. His hind legs barely hold him up. He now has swelling on hind legs. He was perfectly healthy until animal control retrieved him for bite incident. He was in the shelter for over a month. He is not aggressive other than the incident. I know he had an incident but he is still someone's pet regardless of what happened. I already feel sorry enough.

I went to the neuter clinic today for my little kitten and the service was beyond exceptional in every way. His drop off appointment was at 8:15 this morning we were finished with checking in and we're on our way by 8:30 and then just before noon we were called that he was finished and ready to be picked up and after they updated us on his care and how he did we were done and on our way home with him by 12:30. This company is an absolute godsend thank you thank you so much

It was wonderful. My twins had so much fun picking out the PERFECT cat. His name was JJ. It is currently Felix. May 1, 2024 we adopted him. Yesterday on May 8, 2024 he got out and has not returned. We are heart broken. Posting flyers and in touch with 24Petwatch. We are hoping for a safevreturn

What a wonderful service to the community. A wide variety of animals and friendly, helpful staff. In particular, Kimberly, one of the staff at the front desk, stood out. She was deeply caring for both people and the animals. She was thorough and effective, without rushing us. If you are looking to adopt, I can enthusiastically recommend K.C. Animal Services.

I adopted a puppy from here and was so happy to bring her home. She soon started coughing and would do it on and off. And eventually she started also having diarrhea and vomiting. I paid a lot at the vet emergency hospital to try and save her. She ended up passing away from parvo and pneumonia which I’m almost certain she already had at the shelter and I wasn’t told anything about that. I only had her for not even a full week. And I have other dogs I now have to be watching to make sure they don’t also get sick. When I called to cancel her spay appointment at the shelter, the lady didn’t even give her condolences or anything when I said I was canceling because she passed away. I understand they have so many dogs and can’t be watching them individually but something needs to change.
