Kyle & Kim, Thank you for all your hard work and dedication! You stopped in the middle of dinner/after hours when no one else would, to save our wildlife. Thanks to you, we have one big happy bird family once again. Much Love ❤️ to you both!
We had a great blue heron that had a huge stick and string wrapped around its beak. I called every rescue place I could find and they were the only ones that called me back and we’re at my house in 20 minutes! They then spent two days off and on coming back, trying to catch the bird so we could remove the stick and the string from his mouth. They literally spent over 5 to 6 hours trying to help this bird. They were the most professional and amazing people I have ever met.
We worked with Kyle on a baby bird rescue/assessment mission around Mirror Lake. In short, over the course of 24 hours Kyle was responsive, supportive, and heartfelt level of engaged. He did everything he could to find the baby bird the next morning and assess the situation. He found the baby, his sibling and mama bird and spent time observing the situation and state of the baby’s leg. We talked on the phone and he helped educate me why this baby was better left in the wild with his mom. He was more than willing to take the bird to a rehabilitation center if that would have been the best outcome for the baby, but after lots of great dialogue I was able to understand exactly why it was best to let baby stay with his family (he was maybe 3 weeks old, was able to partially fly at his age for safety from any predator, could hop around on one leg, was eating etc). Kyle is a gem and an amazing resource! Do not hesitate to call him & his partner for rescue mission assists and to learn how to help our animals (not just birds) around St Pete.
I discovered an owl inside my lanai and his afternoon, perched on top of my curtain rod. Unsure of what to do, I called this organization and Kyle immediately called his network of volunteers and I had somebody at my house within 30 minutes. They did a wonderful job and the owl was let free and flew away. Happy. Thank you for what you do! housewithin 30 minutes. It was pretty amazing
Texted me back within minutes of my call, then phone conversation...Professional, knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and gave great advice. Thank you Florida Wild Bird Rescue for everything you do!
I highly recommend Florida Wild Bird Rescue. Kim and Kyle are kind and knowledgeable, and they care about birds of all types. I had found a small, injured bird in a parking lot in Tampa and didn’t know what to do. I started calling bird rescues and leaving voicemails. Kim from Florida Wild Bird Rescue called me back immediately, even though it was close to 6PM, and she helped me put a plan together for where to go and notified the rehab facility that we were on our way there with the bird. I am confident that Kim and Kyle are experienced to assist with any bird rescue and I thank them for their ongoing support.
