I have a reactive dog that has gone to one on one visits with Jenn to help provide tools to help with his behavior. She has done wonders. No more constant barking at any movement. We're able to go on walks again and able to enjoy life more. For our boy boötes and us as a family. If you have a reactive dog I highly recommend their help. They do have other programs for non reactive dogs that would be great for many dog families.
Our dog was really starting to concern us with his aggressive behavior toward other animals, especially on walks. After meeting with Jen we now know our dog is anxious. Jen gave us very clear, concise plan of actions to take to start to alleviate the issue. I'm happy to report that our dog is doing much better in just over a week. (That doesn't mean things are perfect, but they have improved a lot!)
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at A Pleasant Dog - they are an absolute God send! They are helping me and my 4 year old Pomeranian, Banjo, with a plethora of skills and communication. They are extremely personable, patient, and kind, and tailor training to our specific needs. The staff has also been amazing about answering questions in a timely manner between appointments. I never feel alone, my relationship with Banjo has improved, and Banjo is happier and more confident. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pets!
Not a huge fan of the experience I had here. I rescued my dog summer 2023, and brought him for a consult with the owner shortly after. I was told my dog would be nearly impossible to train without drugs, because he was too anxious and reactive and OBVIOUSLY UNCOMFORTABLE. I am never against medication in any scenario, but it should be the last case scenario- not the first response. I felt it was pushed very heavily in my consult and it simply did not sit right with me, my dog was newly rescued and a very happy guy. I left this appointment bawling and feeling defeated. After this encounter I sought out a different training company and had an excellent experience learning how to work with my dog on his triggers and get better with them. I’m happy to say in less than a year, WITHOUT medication- i have an excellently trained dog who does not struggle with anxiety or aggression any longer. I am sure there are some great trainers at a pleasant dog, and I do not doubt people have had positive experiences. The idea of the company is fantastic. However, training you (the human) should always be a first attempt before medication is suggested. I highly recommend seeking a second opinion if medication is the first response from a trainer. Listen to your gut. We all love our dogs and want what’s best for them.
A Pleasant Dog is just that, pleasant to work with. I felt Kaylee answered my questions and addressed any concerns I had with my dog. Emily, the office manager, is so much fun just to talk with. The whole team is knowledgeable, obviously loves their work and the dogs they work with. I would recommend them highly.
The best place for classes and training! Harlow loves every minute of it and the small sized classes make for great learning! Thank you Gin for an awesome experience!
