Both of my cats are very anxious and potentially aggressive at the vet, but Dr. Hooper has been consistently fantastic with both of them. The entire veterinary staff listen closely to your needs and concerns and always propose thoughtful, knowledgeable solutions (for example, my cats are always scheduled first thing in the morning to help reduce their anxiety from other cats being in the building). I feel that my cats are understood and cared for extremely well here by the entire staff. I trust them very much and I would recommend them to any caring pet parent.

Since Oslo was eight weeks old, Brooklyn Yard Veterinary Hospital has been our go-to vet. Their team embodies kindness, compassion, and their communication has always been first-rate. I'm especially thankful for their curbside check-in, a true blessing for Oslo as a reactive dog, making our vet visits stress-free and enjoyable for the both of us. I cannot recommend Brooklyn Yard Veterinary Hospital enough! I recently moved to Portland and was pretty anxious about finding a vet that fit my rescue dog's needs. My dog Kolbe was rescued as a stray and is still working hard to overcome fear, hyperactivity, and a lot of anxiety around vet visits. From our first visit, it was instantly clear the staff at BYVH were experts in dog behavior, upheld a fear-free atmosphere, and truly listened to me as a client. Our vet sat calmy with us for a while, slowly building up trust and confidence with each portion of the vet visit. They truly love your pet as their own, and will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is as well cared for as they are able. Kolbe has become extremely anxious with nail trims/blood draws, and the staff at Brooklyn Yard worked with us to brainstorm ideas and steps to make the experience as calming as possible for Kolbe. This vet and their staff are truly a hidden gem- Kolbe and I are so glad we found them!

We had our first visit at Brooklyn Yard Vet today and it was such a breath of fresh air. The vet tech and vet spent a lot of time with us, we were never rushed. They did a very careful review of my older dogs medical history and talked to me about a lot of options and treatments. They were reassuring with our current medical plans and took the time time to really listen to my concerns and questions. I’m so, so glad we’ve switched to this clinic and I feel confident that my babies are going to get good care here.
