Description Dr. Keener has a long history of working with and owning exotic animals. Dr. Keener in college obtained a minor in Fisheries and worked in the Fish Diagnostic laboratory at The University of Florida. Dr. Keener also volunteered in the Zoo Med Hospital at the UF Vet School for a year. He has taken courses including Warm Water Fish Diseases, AquaVet, did a month-long externship at the Jackson Zoo, and 2 months at the Memphis Zoo. In addition to zoo and aquatic training Dr. Keener has extensive work in lab animal medicine which involves working with a plethora of different rodents in a variety of settings. Appointments are preferred, to make an appointment please call during business hours or book online. Walk-ins are welcome if available.

My first visit was with my mom, she had been to another veterinarian with no success. That is when I met Dr Keener and his staff. I observed right away how caring he was. I had not seen that kind of empathy from in a long time, he was also very kind to My mother that's 88 yrs old on disability and very emotional.He also found that she had a heart murmur. I also started taking my little Yorkie to him also. Very pleased with the DR and his assistant.

I found a dog on the streets and went to Petsmart to see if he was chipped. The staff were so kind to scan him then told me to come back the next day for a free exam. They explained all my options regarding finding a lost dog, his health and preventative methods. The African American young lady that helped me (I forgot her name) was so kind, gentle and took the time to explain every single step to me. She understood that I didn’t want to initially spend a ton of money on a dog that may not stay with me long term. She suggested the “right now” items and the items that could wait. Dr Sizemore was very nice and explained things easily. I’d definitely go back to this location!

Great experience. With a fixed income we came to this place hoping to have good experience at an affordable price. We got both. My only complaint was they had no cones and having a fussy pup that can snip and bite you, we had to deal with putting store bought cones on, and it wasn't easy.
