The way they talk to people is absolutely disgusting, we’re talking about people that are already beaten up by life and treated poorly by most… just to be kicked while you’re down.Had a good friend turned away and made out to be a liar for trying to get a bed while it was cold and pouring rain. I literally fail to understand how people who advocate hope and help for those in need seem to make those in need feel worse about themselves. Also the shorter supervisor guy seems to have a napoleon complex and gets off on being rude to others unwarranted. Not all homeless people are addicts or looking to take advantage of people, there are legitimately people down on there luck and in need of basic human rights… remember homelessness could happen to anyone at any time, keep that in mind next time you belittle a homeless person Topeka Rescue Mission. doesn’t seem faith based nor religious at all.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I am staying in Shawnee county and saved my son from being killed in the homeless camps of Lawrence about a week ago and this place told me to take him back there where he has nothing and no one to help him. This place is cold and heartless. God bless them for the good they do. Spew on them for those they turn away. Evil place.

It's a faith based shelter. I had to come back here because I hit rock bottom again. A long time ago (over two years long) I failed a breathalyzer, so now they make me take one every night. Which their rules are their rules. I mean I don't drink anymore so whatever. They are Christians so of course they pick and choose who they want to pick on. In reality it's just the devil trying to test your patience. Which I'm use to that because you have good religions and then you have Christianity. I literally watch people smoke weed and no one gets drugged tested but let it be a man that's actually trying to better his life and remain sober and the devil comes out in a disguise as good but really it's a test. Anyway. I still respect the rules here and volunteer and am focused on having a better future. And showing kindness and love to those around me, without any religion. I will pray for the bad though. I do appreciate having a place to stay. Although the devil tries to tempt me I still have a good and genuine heart. Their relationship with God is between them and their God. Love always wins.

At one time, I use to volunteer to serve meals and donated thing's to their thrift shop, but will not ever again. Heard to many horrible thing's and read where people have been turned away. Some TRAUMA people have experienced in their lives make it hard to BELIEVE and YOU HAVE TO AT THIS PLACE. It's very sad for many in our community to feel they don't matter. Heard many occasions that what's donated for people residing there, don't receive it.

Front desk person was very nice and polite to explain there is no room for someone in need before 6 months of proof been locally homeless in the city... The river banks got just cleaned, no way to get an id... How and where supposedly you can survive here? Governor Kelly, City of Topeka, Mayor Padilla,

At first it didn't feel right me being here but Rachel the one that runs Hope Center made it feel good, and the Staff is very friendly. I also made friends that I call family. Thank You TRM for everything you've done for me.
