I adopted my puppy from SFSPCA. Everything went smoothly. The dogs had really nice rooms and seemed to be doing well. I did not see the puppies' rooms or enclosures, but I feel that they were well taken care of. Staff was pleasant and the adoption process didn't take too long. Anyone looking for a pet should seek out shelters first. Thanks, SFSPCA!!!

I’ve adopted twice from SFSPCA and they are always very accommodating and work hard to find the best possible homes for all their pets. We went on a free adoption day and when we left they had adopted out over 60 dogs and cats in one day! They gave us as much info as possible about our new family member and she is fitting in splendidly.

My dog Trudy is a certified Animal Assisted Therapy dog with the SFSPCA. It's been a rewarding and wonderful experience sharing her with communities that could benefit from a little doggie love but sometimes the visits can be stressful for me so I decided to volunteer as a Cat Socializer as my "animal therapy". I look forward to meeting the new kitties each week and check the website regularly to see who becomes available and who gets adopted. Of course we all knew how volunteering with cats would end for me and last weekend I added a new cat to my "fur family". It wasn't the cat I expected to fall in love with but thanks to Mando for being a very patient and excellent Match Maker. He really took the time to understand my household, concerns and goals. I didn't want a kitten but an older cat that would still be playful enough to be a friend for my resident cat, Finnegan, and Chuck (new name TBD) was the perfect mix of affection, playfulness and attitude. He quickly acclimated to being Finni's BFF, he gets along great with my dogs and is a total snuggle bug to me. I couldn't have asked for a more PURR-fect experience. Adopt. Volunteer. Donate.

Amazing facility, incredibly thorough and detailed medical file on the kitten we adopted, super friendly staff. It was a really great experience. Also it has to be same day adoption! We were surprised, so make sure you have everything ready before going .

Great staff! There's a room filled with comfy couches & chairs, just for cats & their owners, so the cats won't be more stressed out by seeing too many people & their dogs. The visit didn't take long at all & my cat was treated by pros who knew how to handle him without getting him more upset than he already was. They spoke to me in plain English, so I understood what they were going to do and what they were going to check. They told me what vaccinations would be given & finally, they told me what I should do to keep my cat as healthy or healthier.
