My dog Ayana had the best experience at this clinic. She's had two vets before and she was always nervous. I can tell she trusted Santiago and her team. Thank you, and I hope my baby will continue to be a client for the rest of her years.

Dr Alleman and staff at Spruce Hill were amazing! I took my very nervous chihuahua in for his first wellness visit.. they were so good with my little boy, I was pleasantly surprised at how well he did! The doc gave me great instruction on how to properly clean his ears, thoroughly explained tests and treatments and even offered alternatives when being conservative financially. I really appreciate how great they were with my boy, this was our best vet visit to date!!

I love the folks at Spruce Hill Veterinary Clinic. My senior cat is a patient and Dr. Himmelstein is the best! The practice has always been very responsive to my needs and everyone I’ve dealt with shows such caring and kindness.

Dr. Alleman is amazing..smart.. professional and kind. She knows her stuff and you can tell she loves her work caring for animals in need. I just love her energy and enthusiasm. Glad we came here. Our new puppy needs a good veterinarian like her.

My shepherd mix dog, Westley, is so terrified of vets that I have to give him a concoction of tranquilizers to get him there. Even on heavy tranquilizers he shakes with fear. BUT Dr. Santiago and Dawn truly are the most fabulous, empathetic people I have ever met!!!!!!! This past visit, he needed his rabies shot. They are amazing… they gave him all he needed at once to avoid traumatizing him for another visit. And then, this is the best part…THEY DID EVERYTHING IN MY CAR!!!! Plus, Westley even wagged his tail at the end (a little wag but it definitely was a wag!! lol) I cannot say enough terrific things about Spruce Hill!!!! I think they are THE BEST!!!!

Absolutely horrible treatment when I tried to bring my dog in for an emergency. They had an opening that afternoon but tried to con me into paying for a physical as well or they wouldn’t see him. He had an annual physical the month prior at another vet. The receptionist was SO incredibly rude. What’s worse, “Dr H” called me back to chastise ME for being rude to her receptionist who was clearly lying to her and ended the call by telling me to find another vet. I’m sure she looked like a big hero to her staff, I wonder how the company she sold the business to a couple of years ago likes her running off their clients?? No big loss, I keep 4 vets on rotation at all times since the level of service in veterinary care has gone completely downhill. This as a clear example of that. Just the sheer unprofessionalism is unfathomable. In fact, I’ve been in the waiting room when this particular receptionist ended a call with clients and made rude comments about them after she hung up. As far as the dog care? My dog went there have his anal glands expressed and came out bleeding! No one could say why though! Never liked vets who take dogs into the back room for something like that, can’t trust them. Not to mention this office doesn’t even accommodate people with handicaps. Practically impossible to get up the steep front steps. They have plenty of room to tear out the front steps and add a sideways ramp. It’s not like they’re not making enough money off of people. Every time I took my dog in, it was a new lifetime prescription. Funny, another vet told me not to give it to my dog and he’s been perfectly fine. The only good part about this business is Rachel the vet tech. They should spend more time appreciating her than that RUDE receptionist who I’m sure will be sending a response to this review…save it, I’m not interested. FYI, ya’ll, VESH in West Springfield is great if you have an emergency, you can even call ahead and they’ll tell you the best time to come in.
