I called Animal Control today to ask for an email so I can send a video of an individual that had her two dogs come on my front lawn so they can do their buisness and instead they sent over an officer. The officer was courteous and kind. He took time to look around the area for any feces and still put in a report. A fantastic divison with officers and dispatchers!!!
The officers here care about animals and take great care of them through the town of New Britain. Please call and ask about adopting their pups!
Got my beautiful girl here for $50 five years ago.. plus a generous coupon for the spay, since she is a pittie and CT has (had?) a subsidy program for fixing stray pitties... These people did not make us jump thru a million hoops, like so many of these vanity projects masquerading as "shelters" now do, and our girl was all the better for it.. she has had a wonderful life!
We adopted the cutiest, funniest, gentlest, newest family member of our house hold from here. His name was, and still is, Dustin. At first, he was a trouble maker like a huge puppy. He ate out of the garbage and got himself sick for a week because his meal while in the trash consisted of plastic and old meat. Then in the first week of having him he saw the children getting out of school while no one was home and jumped threw the window screen and ran back and forth jumping around but the whole time never left our yard, let me remind you we don't even have a fence. Two days later he destroyed another window screen. He left the yard during recess and ran to the school fence where he couldn't get in so he barked, ran in circles and rolled onto his back to get them to play with him. When we got there to pick him up the man that was his caretaker at the pound was there. The man was on the floor and Dustin was on top of him. Licking him! When the man left and Dustin was back in the house, all the children said Dustin was the best dog ever and multiple staff of the school asked if they could ever dog sit Dustin. We have had Dustin for a little under a year now. He is the best dog my family has ever had. He swims, sits, lays down, gives paw, heals, is great on a leash, speaks, rolls over, and being honest can skate board! Two paws on the skate board while two paws push him forward. He loves he parks nearby and all the paths and lakes in Vermont we go to on vacation. He also loves car rides and cats/ kittens. Anyway the day we got him we were only looking at dogs but when we heard spayed and newtured and up to date on vacinations for only $5, then saw all these cute dogs that were very human friendly. We thought about it and came by later to pick him up. This lovely rescue isn't in this for the money but for the placing of dogs in good homes. I definitely recommend going here if you are ready to adopt.
Love this place and the wonderful sweetheart, Ollie that we adopted. He is the sweetest and kindest dog we've ever had. We are so lucky.
Kind people, good help! Answered all my questions and also give voucher for some shots and neuturing which is handy ; if you're looking to adopt go here!
