We went to the shelter in January to look at one dog, but based on a recommendation from the staff we adopted Daisy. Three months later she’s settled in nicely and is the family member that definitely keeps us active. Best decision ever to adopt. Can only thank the knowledgeable staff who thought she’d be a good fit. A husky wasn’t on our radar but was just what we needed.

We came during a "pay what you can" promo because they had a high amount of dogs. We left with a great little pointer mix we renamed Mr. Pickles. The animals are well cared for and waiting for homes. So go rescue a best friend. Additionally; here are few updated images of Mister Pickles and Coco. One from Salem branch and other Nevins farm. Get get a pet. If not for your kids for yourself. Everyone needs a pet, I'm a dog person.

I got my first cat from this shelter over 2 years ago. My cat has been healthy. The shelter had a reasonable and really fast adoption procedure. A counselor there was super helpful and patient to help me pick the kitten that fits me the most. She gave me great advice. The shelter also provided me with very detailed medical records. Overall it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend it to people who live in the greater Boston area.

I adopted Odie now Miss Odie when she was 7 she just turned 11 and still acts like she's 2 she is my baby my best friend and unconditional love ya she's spoiled we both saved each other I love her more than anything she's my angel and so smart she lays o top of me paws on my heart and beautiful face on my chest thank you for choosing us Jenna luckiest ppl in th world

My husband and I adopted our first dog from NEAS back in 2020. We did not have our eye set on a specific dog going into the process - we just wanted to find one that was going to be the right fit. The adoption counselors were wonderful and guided us to a very sweet puppy who had been brought up from GA, and hadn’t yet grown into his ears (or paws, in hindsight!) We’ve now had him over three years and couldn’t imagine a more perfect pup for us! Thank you NEAS!!

THIS PLACE HAS CHANGED ( AND NOT FOR THE BETTER) I really wanted to give a dog in NEED a forever home and I can afford to take care of a dog but the adoption fee is $600. I understand that the shelter needs money to keep the place running but it seemed to me that they were more interested in the cash than giving a K-9 in need a loving home. Unfortunately I left before I could even meet a dog today because I did not have $600 on me.
