I don't know what took me so long. We weren't feeling comfortable with our previous vet and I've known some of the staff at Dix Hills Animal Hospital for years so I asked them for a second opinion on my dog, Rider’s, latest blood test. We saw Dr. Maria and we just LOVED her (seriously - Rider tried to leave the room with her when she went out). She was beyond thorough and didn’t rush us at all. AND she had a much different take on the blood test results and explained her reasoning in a way that a layman could understand. PHEW!!!! Oh, and I hit her up with some other questions that have been nagging at me for a while. She was good with that and probably would have answered many more if I’d had the time. And I was able to take advantage of the “Free Pet Exam for New Clients” option. That wasn’t the deciding factor in getting a second opinion but it made it easier. So, I’m not saying to switch over if you love your veterinarian but if you’re in the market you should definitely consider them.

We had a referral from our friend Amanda who is a Vet tech at Dix Hills Animal Hospital We had a great first experience I like that Dr Ali did not come in treatment room and start touching my dog right away. She let him listen to her talking to me first to get him comfortable seeing and listening to her. She listened to my concerns and we agreed to any treatment before she did it The vet techs Nora and Kenny were super nice and helpful and the front desk was very nice as well. I am hopeful the medicine and shampoo and topical spray will help his skin condition

My family always went to dix hills animal hospital with my family dogs, so when I got my own dog, I knew I could trust them. The doctors have always been so attentive and caring, but they’ve really outdone themselves. I came to them with a dog who had been surrendered in pretty bad shape, and they never gave up on their efforts to treat her. Dr. Whisher puts her heart into every visit and truly wants the best for you and your pets. I’ve been bringing my dog since March 2023, and as of July 2024 she finally has a clean bill of health! They’ve given her a second lease on life and I couldn’t be more grateful

In a word, Dr. Alison Rhein!! She has been my dog's veterinarian for 16 years and my 2 dogs before that. She is warm and friendly while being a wonderful vet and diagnostician. The vet techs (Austin's the best) are all wonderful as is the front desk staff. I would never go anywhere else and I would recommend DHAH to anyone.
