This review is probably the most important I have posted to google, I decided to write it up on my laptop because the work this vet clinic does can be a matter of life and death. My 2 year old Holland Lop is named Buddy. He is litter box trained and lives inside the house. Buddy is usually very outgoing and social, about a week ago I noticed his energy was off and quickly got worse. Sometimes with bunnies they can be temperamental depending on time of year, time of day, etc. Initially I was not worried until he did not eat his dinner. That was a red flag for me but because that has happened a few times in his life, I did not panic. Over the course of the next few evening hours, Buddy lacked normal behavior and he started having trouble keeping his head up or showing his normal alertness. By the time I felt I needed to get Buddy medical treatment, all the local exotic vets were closed and I could not afford the 600.00 bucks for the an emergency visits to one of the big box pet hospitals. I stayed up with Buddy all night, monitoring him and just encourage him to keep fighting. My bunny groomer had previously praised Avian so I put Buddy in his travel crate and took him there 30 minutes before they opened. This was on a Thursday. The clinic was already staffed and they immediately checked Buddy in. I cant say enough about how much I appreciated that Avian made Buddy a priority and the vet diagnosed him before they opened to their normal scheduled appointments. The vet believed Buddy has a life threatening infection and he was immediately placed on medications and I was to continue the treatments at home for the next week. Within a few hours of leaving Avian Buddy started showing signs of life but I had to force feed and drink Buddy for the next 5 days. It is very dangerous for bunnies to stop eating and drinking water, their bodies require constant nourishment. The vet did an awesome job explaining everything. I have just found my new favorite spot to take my bunny. The attention was fast and the price was a third of what the hospital wanted just to check him in. Thank you Avian for saving Buddy!

I usually don’t post reviews but with the care we just received, I felt compelled to let everyone know how amazing this vet is. I cannot say better things about Avian & Exotic, but especially Dr. Rogers and the front desk crew. Dr. Rogers has helped us through 2 very difficult decisions of putting 2 of our beloved piggies down within the last 4 months. Dr. Rogers and the whole crew are all beyond compassionate and just made our situations that much easier. Thank you for taking such amazing care of Marshmallow and Mavis. We have been coming to Avian & Exotic for a couple of years now and I have no doubts they’ll continue the amazing care they provide constantly to our other piggies.

Avian and exotic animal hospital is amazing and I definitely recommend. Unfortunately our hamster Pearl passed away recently. We had adopted her from the shelter a year ago and it’s amazing how much of a mark these lil rodents can leave on your life. We took her to the hospital just to make sure and the staff were very considerate and came back with the sad news shortly. We were devastated. They offered to have her cremated and ashes spread over the bay which we appreciated. A few days later we received a typed out condolences letter in the mail with signatures from every staff member. Keep in mind we had never been to this hospital before and they were kind enough to take the time to sign a letter for us! So while I can’t speak on other parts of the hospital this experience means more to us than anything.

Dr. Amandine Gillet has helped me with two of my senior pigs. I was able to get in right away to help my pet. Recently my piggy Pudding had an eye ulcer. Her eye was very red and swollen and cloudy and she was in a lot of pain and lethargic. Her eye was so bad she couldn’t even open it. The medicine Dr.Gillet gave her helped her bounce back 100%.I was able to get a huge piece of grass out of her eye and her eye is completely healed now.

My brother and I went here to take our beloved bearded dragon Espinas to get his annual check up and the vet was HORRIBLY ROUGH and inconsiderate when handling him.. Our baby was so anxious throughout the handling and examination which could have been completely avoided if it had been done with more care. It was flat out animal abuse and I couldn’t even bare to watch. When removing his harness, he was practically ripping it off of him when it was obviously not loose enough to be taken off yet. I made several comments about how overwhelmed he was and if he could be more gentle, I was flat out ignored. It was the worst vet visit I’ve ever had and judging from all of the other bad reviews regarding this vet, I wish this place would fire him for his lack of empathy and care. Our lizard should not have to be scared to come to the vet and I worry that this experience traumatized him. We will not be coming back and I hope this vet (Jenkins) is held responsible for his actions. I felt gaslighted for the experience I had but after reading the reviews I know that I am not alone. I am currently in tears with my heart racing writing this. If you love your pet and value their life, please do not visit this vet.

Dr. Jeffrey Jenkins and the team at Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital are the actual best in the business. They have such care, love, and industry knowledge that are frankly unmatched anywhere in the county, potentially the country. Dr. Jenkins and his staff saved my rabbit, Bailey’s life not once, but twice. We are eternally grateful for the Hospital’s expertise and swift judgement. If you have a need for an avian or exotic vet, this is your place. Bailey and her family loves you guys!
