The receptionist was very good, a young woman. She was kind and efficient. The vet Kassandra was the same and very compassionate. She diagnosed both my dogs. Sadly we lost our oldest dog just a few days later but with Dr. Kassandra’s care we were able to love on her as much as possible until that time. Grateful for the staff and care we received.
These are the best kind of people. We had to put our guinea pig down last night. He had some dental surgery at another vet and had a very bad reaction. He was suffering and we had to act fast so he didn't suffer for one more moment. Even before I was finished filling out the online registration, I received a call from them. We went immediately and we're greeted by two very sweet and understanding staff members. I wish I had gotten their names, but one of them had two piggies of her own and made us feel so good at one of our worst moments. The euthanasia family rooms are so nice. Low lights, comfy couch, warm vibes. We got to spend a little more time with our baby before we signaled for them that we were ready for them to take him (Dogs and Cats can be put down in the room with the family, but they are not equipped for cavy euthanasia in the rooms). When they were finished they brought him back and we were allowed to spend more time with him in there. The vet was so sweet. There's no good way to say goodbye. But these folks made it a little bit easier.
Dr Stegeman, we love you. We love the entire team of amazing specialists at NVS. There are truly not enough “thank you’s” that could ever show our gratitude for saving our Luna’s life. Our dog would not be here without this staff. We are forever grateful for the angels that truly do God’s work day in and day out and definitely don’t get enough recognition. Also shoutout to Dr Downing, Jeanette, Moriah, Sydney (and many others) that were so compassionate and kind anytime we called for updates or questions. When I say angels, I mean angels. Thank you all 🩷 -The Hopkins
We have found comfort in knowing we have an emergency vet should the time ever arise. My experience made me not feel real great anymore. My cat had a hole form in her neck from a feeding tube removal complication and had food coming out of the side of her neck. We waited from 9pm-12am to even be invited into the building. We waited 12am-1am in a waiting room without ever seeing any staff. We didn’t leave until after 3am. It was miserable and exhausting. The vet was nice but couldn’t do much for our cat so I was out 6.5 hours of my time and $300. I understand they were not staffed very well but maybe work on that? Going 3 hours without any communication was rough as well. I really hope if our pet is ever in need of life saving care, it’s Monday through Friday during work hours.
Bear decided to have a gourmet lunch of rocks. Stomach full of rocks. They got him in and held our hands the entire way thinking we would have to have surgery. Luckily he passed them all. So glad they are here in Clarksville. I have never been in this situation and hope never to be again. Now I know where to go in an emergency. Thank you for everything!
Absolute waste of time, tears, heartache, energy and effort wasted on this place. I highly recommend finding other avenues for emergency services for your pet. They will scrape you dry for every penny you have and some. For example: $750 just for a vet to “look at” your pet, $150 to monitor blood pressure while the vet is examining, $75 per bag of fluid, $215 to start an IV which he already had in from our usual vet, $125 fee to do CPR “IF” your pet needs it and this must be paid in advance regardless of the situation…the list is endless and pricing amounts were insane. Unless you have $5000 at bare minimum your pet will not even be seen much less cared for at this facility upon walking in the door. They are scam artists that prey on the hearts of pet owners who are already in turmoil of their pets emergency. Then they will try to force you to sign a AMA document before they will release your pet to you if you refuse treatment from them or will try to hold your pet hostage from you. This place should be shut down for good. I have never in all of my life seen such non-compassion and absolutely no empathy humans such as the ones who operate here. Seek advice, care and treatment anywhere but here. And after they advised my pet would die from not letting them keep him I took my needs elsewhere and was MUCH better taken care of as well as my pet. Do your research before even considering this terrible place.
