I recently went to the Lancaster County Animal Shelter for the first time ever and ended up adopting a sweet little kitten. I am impressed with how clean the facility is and also how nice the people are. I am also impressed with how low the adoption fee is considering that it covers spaying and neutering as well as rabies shot and other vaccinations. You can even get your new pet chipped for only $10. I definitely recommend going to the Lancaster County Animal Shelter if you are considering adopting a cat or dog.

We adopted our girl from the animal shelter and she is the greatest. We renamed her Elsa which means sworn to God. She is my husbands emotional support dog, we couldn't have found a better one.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This place is a joke! I called on a stray cat. They sent a police officer to my door who told me to throw the cat on the street!!!!!! Excuse me? Where is animal control? What exactly are our taxes paying for? An officer to come out and tell me to throw the kitten on the street? He then proceeds to tell me animal control called him over. This is beyond ridiculous! Now the cat is right back at my back door. Thanks for nothing Lancaster county.

We adopted a dog from here at the end of November last year. He is adjusting into a wonderful loving dog. It was evident when we brought him home that he had been abused by his former owners because he would cower in fear every time he heard a raised voice. Our vet said it was evident that he hadn't been fed a proper diet by his former owners. We don't know whether he was removed from a home or came in as a stray, but thank you Lancaster County Animal Shelter for saving him. Astro is so sweet and he is now in a safe, loving, non-abusive home and has settled into a good life.

On November 1st we went there and found our fur baby. She is so sweet and kind. The staff helped us as much as possible and gave us whatever information they could on our sweet girl. We are so happy we went there. So many dogs in need of a home.
